according the to fishwrap writers and sports radio guys up here in Green Bay.

This game can't get here soon enough for me so these idiots will shut up.

I've compiled the top 10 reasons the writers and radio guys have said over the last 5 days why the Packers will win.

10. Dallas hasn't played anyone and their record is inflated.
9. Favre beat KC @ KC and Denver @ Denver for the first time. Dallas is next.
8. Romo is a flash in the pan and very lucky.
7. Dallas is over-confident
6. They just have a "feeling" the Packers will win.
5. McCarthy will out coach WP. WP can't win big games.
4. Position by position - Green Bay is better than the Cowboys except at the TE position.
3. Dallas has yet to play this tough of a defense.
2. Harris will shutdown TO and Dallas will have to rely on an overrated running game.

and the #1 reason the Packers will win (and I am not making this up)

#1. Romo will be starstruck and jelly-kneed when he looks across the field to see his boyhood idol staring him down.

PRICELESS!!!!

None of these are true or make any sense at all, especially considering we stomped the Bears, on the road, they lost to them at home. We beat 2 of teams in their division. Should tell you something about who is playing weaker opponents, TWICE! And we have beaten every team we were supposed to beat, what more can we do, except beat them? BTW No way is Grant even close to Barber or Jones... remember how good JJ looked his rookie year?:laugh2:

Their spread offense concerns me. If Jason Campbell had success, what will Favre do?

Lose, like Jason Campbell did.

Throwing the ball 54 times and trying to match points with this Dallas offense isn't really a recipe for success.

I would say position by position, there are NO positions the Packers are superior as a group at other than DL and possibly WR, if you're impressed heavily with Greg Jennings. Favre and Romo's a tossup. Dallas is definitely the more talented squad.

Just a side note, 'cause I get tired of hearing about it... They were coming from behind and threw over 50 times... Campbell had 151 of his 348 in the fourth quarter... He avg. 10.5 yds per completion. He hardly tore us up. 16-27 for 151, 1int, 1 td..... in the fourth quarter

10. Dallas hasn't played anyone and their record is inflated.

And GB's strength of schedule is only slightly better, and their signature win is against Detroit on the road

9. Favre beat KC @ KC and Denver @ Denver for the first time. Dallas is next.

Favre was 0-2 at KC and Denver, he's 0-8 at Dallas. Just a little different...

8. Romo is a flash in the pan and very lucky.

Romo's game is almost identical to Favre's, and I doubt Favre won 3 MVPs and a SB as a "flash in the pan"

7. Dallas is over-confident

Actually, GB is the team doing all the talking and media attention-whoring

6. They just have a "feeling" the Packers will win.

It's this line of thinking that makes the lottery a multi-billion dollar industry

5. McCarthy will out coach WP. WP can't win big games.

And how many big games has McCarthy won in his career? At least Phillips has BEEN in big games before.

4. Position by position - Green Bay is better than the Cowboys except at the TE position.

The media is split at about 50/50 in the Favre vs Romo debate. Dallas is head and shoulders above GB at RB, WR, TE, and CB (with Henry playing). You could argue either way on O-Line and LB. The only spots GB has a distinct advantage in is D-Line and safety

3. Dallas has yet to play this tough of a defense.

Funny thing about that, Miami, Chicago, and New York all had all-world defenses until Dallas dismantled them, at which time the media dubbed all of them overrated. Hell, the Giants' pass rush was supposed to end Romo's desire to inhale O2....

2. Harris will shutdown TO and Dallas will have to rely on an overrated running game.

If Asante Samuels, Antoine Winfield, and Lito Sheppard couldnt shut down TO, I doubt Al Harris will be able to, especially with those 6 foot dreads in his way

#1. Romo will be starstruck and jelly-kneed when he looks across the field to see his boyhood idol staring him down.

That's what they said before the New York game, too

It's a little early in the week to be drinking so heavily.

Fine, but now imagine a much, much better QB in control of such an offense (i.e. Favre). And then imagine a better overall team than the Skins.

Statistically speaking, it's hard to argue. Their safeties are better over the top

What statistic are you using to support that, statistically speaking?

#1 Ridiculous comment

#3 That's comical. Your offense couldn't get a TD against the Eagles and could only come up with one offensive TD against the Skins, whereas we put 38 and 28 against those two teams.

#7 Oh please, provide a link or anything that shows the Cowboys are being overconfident.

#10 So in your opinion, Patriots are nobody right?

Dallas doesnt have the better WRs depth. They have the better reciever but as far as recievers... Al Harris and Woodson is better than Newman and Henry. Safety is way better in Dallas and so is the Oline. Packers may have the worst oline out there. I think in Dallas the Oline helps Barber and Jones. In GB its Grant that helps the Oline.

Except, a toss up, to me, would be the area of DBs....TNewman & Henry vs Harris & Woodson....Throw into the mix the nickel and dime packages and it's GB, IMHO...Tramon & Bush are very solid...They've got an athletic group back there...In particular, there's something to this Tramon kid that looks like he has a bright future
