What is your top 5 most hated players in the NFL and Why?

Here is mine:

1. LArry Johnson- I think this guy is a total Tool and His personality is fake!. That fake smirk when Vermeil hugged him and patted him on the back is clear on my mind. Also Why is he pulling the Race card? He said He thinks he performs better under a black Coach because they understand young black Athletes better?..What a Tool!.

2. Plaxico Burres- THis guy is a complete Joke to the NFL. He takes his talent for granted and He acts like He's all that. He's the softest WR in the League PERIOD. He Gives up on plays, He gets tackled by air( Remember Arron Glenn?) and He gives up on plays( Did I say that already?)..Again I cant stress this enough, He's a joke.

3. SHawn Merrimen- Mr. Roids is a Cheater!...I hate CHeaters, But I hate Cocky arrogant cheaters even more. Not to mention He thinks He's better than LT..." I'm faster, Stronger and better" Yea right MErrimen, You're a joke to the NFL you Cheater!.

hmm... I never heard that LJ quote, that sounds pretty sorry though, considering if a white player would have said "I wish I had a white coach" all hell would break loose.

And you forgot to include Jeremy Shockey on that list ;).

dude you got some issues if that guy bugs you. I can't think of a single reason to dislike that kid, he is the best pure running back in the league and you never hear crap about him. you got something else going on with your head if you don't like that guy.

You've heard plenty of things about him if you live in KC. Nothing major mind you, but plenty of things that rub, or did rub a lot of people the wrong way. Of course, now he's the great LJ, and those things don't quite matter so much anymore.

I like LJ, but he did lose some respect from me for that interview on Real Sports and some of the comments he said.

i don't think there is a black athlete in the league that wouldn't want to play for a black coach. To turn that into a negative is absurd to me.

Off the field, I don't have a problem with the guy.

It's on the field with his horse-collar tackling, being the reason that I dislike him. I mean he is the reason the rule against it was put in place.

Horse collar tackles were occurring in the NFL long before Roy Williams.

Give me a break.

Roy Williams horse-collars just as much as anyone in the league, and if he hadn't destroyed TO's ankle 2 years ago the rule against it never would have been made.

Horse collar tackles happened before Roy was here, and they're still going to happen. Look at DeAngelo Hall last week who horse-collared a WR after the play was clearly a touchdown.

Why aren't you bashing Hall?

1. Leonard Little - The guy should be behind prison bars, not in NFL. Say what you will about past Cowboys like Irvin and Newton, but they never killed anybody.

2. Plaxico Burress - A waste of god-given talent. T.O. without the on-the-field effort. As annoying as he is foolish.

3. Tie - Terrell Owens/Sean Taylor - I've yet to fully forgive T.O. for his antics, although I have warmed to him a bit since he joined the Cowboys. Taylor is just a punk. Drive-by shootings, spitting in players' faces, late hits... talented as anyone in the league, but just a punk.

I will agree that Roy Williams has had his share of controversial hits. That sideline wood-laying against a Giants reciever a few years back, in particular, I thought was a very unnecessary. But, in regards to horse-collaring, he has yet to be flagged for it since it became a rule. Let's face it: If Roy hadn't broke T.O.'s legs, the rule would never have been put into place.

This ban has come under heavy scrutiny from fans and NFL management alike for myriad reasons. Fans object to it because, along with the league's decision not to alter the controversial tuck rule and the league's recent enforcement emphasis on illegal contact by defenders, it is another example of NFL rules enforcement that appears to favor the offense. Others object because it appears to target one player: Dallas Cowboys safety Roy Williams, who was involved in four of the six serious injuries caused by the horse-collar tackle in 2005. "I really hate the fact that the rule is kind of being named for one player," said Atlanta Falcons team president Rich McKay, who co-chaired the competition committee (the rule having become commonly known as the "Roy Williams Rule" among the sports media). "Roy Williams is a good player and, according to the rules that existed [in 2004], he didn't do anything that was illegal. We try not to punish one player, but rather to address the future of that kind of tackle. And, as a committee, we were nervous about it." Cowboys owner Jerry Jones voted against the new rule because he was concerned about ambiguities, adding, "I'd rather it had been a fine and it not gotten to the penalty phase."

You missed my point genius. My point is that these types of tackles were occurring in the NFL long before Roy Williams, and still occur by players not named Roy Williams.

Did the horse collar tackle suddenly show up in 2005 out of nowhere? Or in 2002 when Williams was in his rookie year?
