This is a team stocked with talent.
Led by a cupcake of a coach.

THAT is our achilles heel. That will be our downfall.

Top 3 reasons I am excited about the season:
1. Tony Romo - put-up or shut-up year for him
2. Roy Williams - can he raise his game to the next level
3. Felix Jones - Showed flashes of being special last year

Top 3 worries for the season:

1. The Pillsbury Dough Boy is still the head coach
1A. Tony Romo - fails again in December
2. Roy Williams - Makes 99% of the posters in here long to have T.O. back
3. Felix Jones - gets another season ending injury

Excite

1. Overall youth movement: My excitement is more about last year's crop of rookies, Anthony Spencer, and Sensabaugh taking on starting roles than the dirty dozen added in this year's draft.

2. Special Teams: I'm eager to see the difference a new coach and a draft particularly geared towards improving special teams makes. The Cowboy's finished close to last place in the league last year in terms of all the measurable statistics related to Special Teams and many analyst point to that weakness as a big factor in the Cowboy's failed 08 season.

3. TE duo and RB trio: In my mind, if used correctly, the Cowboy's have the best grouping of TE and RB of any team in the league.

Worried

1. Injuries: Will injuries hamstring the Cowboy's ability to diversify their attack again?

2. Coaching: Can Wade Phillip's handle the duel role of Head Coach and Defensive coordinator? Can Jason Phillip rebound from a season where he fell from Offensive genius to predictable? Can this grouping of coaches keep this team focused on the ultimate goal of reaching the play offs, winning in the play offs and, at least, making a push toward's the Super Bowl?

3. Chemistry: The word is player's are clicking, getting along, and our showing accountability for their positions. But, that's pretty close to what we read and hear every year about this time. While I disagree that chemistry, or lack thereof, should bear the majority of the blame for last season's end result's, I would like to see a marked improvement over the cohesion of last year, with the Cowboy's parting way's with so much talent to accomplish that.

I believe we can have that SB year, but at the same time we could struggle yet again. It just depends on what level these bring their game up to.

Concerns:

1. WR: Getting rid of TO was a given and had to be done, no regrets about that decision. It is just that we have a lot of mid grade guys, but a few (Williams and Austin) who have potential to be great.

2. coaching: you have to admit, Wade is not an authority figure and will not be respected enough for players to do what they will have to do for Wade. They will have to do it because they wanna win, and aside from removing bad attitudes this team has shown to need a little more of a "COACH". I question attitude of Wade, and the ability of Garrett to make proper adjustments.

3. Safeties: I knew we have some real help now at safety with Sensabahm (sp?) but I write this in reference to the past and that sens... is new player for us. We have struggled quite heavily in the middle of the field and proper reads from the safety spot. Hamlin is good, but after him and for right now, cause for a little concern.

Excited:

1. Attitudes and Team Chemistry: not much needs said here. Was nice to see Jerry remove all team elements that did not play much as a team but more as an individual who cared more for themselves on AND OFF the field. This team, from the player videos to press conferences, seems alot more focused and desires to play as one unit.

2. Trio os RBs: wow, what can I say. Garrett can do pretty much whatever he wants to do with these three because they would all be starters on any other team but yet we have them on just ours. Cannot wait to see the old Arkansas style running attack when they have both felix and MBIII on the field at the same time.

3. I have to say Romo and the passing game: as much as I might worry about loss of TO's production on the field, I also think this lineup of WRs and TEs may be the perfect match to the style of play Romo uses. Romo started with the Cowboys and was very successful by passing to 11-12 different ball catchers in a game and I think removing TO (who wanted the ball to himself but yet could not get open last year) will make just that be possible allowing Romo to play his game and that is finding that open guy regardless of the name written on the back of his jersey.

Excited:

1. 08 Rookie Class - We got a ton of talent and value out of that draft class. Ubelievable.

2. Roy Williams - A player thats as gifted as you will find that is finally pushing himself like a professional athlete should

3. Special Teams - If you have a great Special Teams than it can become a huge weapon. With the new Coach and Slew of talent that we will have I expect our Special teams to be elite.

Worried:

1. Offensive line - They are the key for all of our success this year. We are loaded at the skill positions but without good blocking its all for Nada. Flo was completely awful last year as well.

2. Austin & Stanback - Roy and Crayton will be productive for us. That much is all but guaranteed. But Austin and Stanback have yet to show they can do it on a consistent basis. I really really like Austins potential though and think he has the abilty to be special.

3. Injuries - I think injuries were the biggest reason for our failures last year.

The Philly game sticks in peoples mind but if we weren't so unbelievably banged up all year than we would have never found ourselves walking into that hornets nest to begin with.
