I love Miles and he's having a great year but he has to do this for a few years in a row before putting him in the class with those guys above.

1. Andre Johnson
2. Larry Fitz
3. Reggie Wayne
4. Randy Moss
5. Miles Austin

And I'm only putting Miles Austin in there cause he's a Cowboy and I'm a Cowboy fan. He's been awesome this year and I love that. But he really can't be top five, officially and honestly, till he strings together 2 or 3 seasons in a row of this kind of production. The reality is you're trying to make him the best WR in the NFL over guys who've been doing it for more than a single season and I just can't really see how anyone can honestly do that without admiting it's just blatant fan love you're giving him.

because if he started those other games he didn't start, and held consistent to the production he has had, he would be over 1800 yards on the season about to set the single-season record.

I was considering Moss for the #5 spot, but man his attitude grates on me. He's way worse attitude-wise than the guys who get more bad pub (like Ochocinco, who is actually a nice dude).

Ochocinco is great guy who doesn't let his celebrity status get to his head, heck he has posted his gamertag on his Twitter and goes out to breakfast with fans before games, he's a class act.

Yea, I met him once and he was cracking on my jacket, but in a good way. He's a very accessible guy and is really funny.

Yes which would be awesome. No doubt.

But it still doesn't make him top 5 right off the bat, in reality. You have to string together a few years of high quality play to really be a top 5 player at a position. The guys ahead of him have done it for a few years in a row now.

In a couple of years, if he continues to play this well, I'll be right there with you absolutely saying he's honestly top 5. For right now he's honestly top 10 but only top 5 cause I'm a Cowboys fan.

Top 5, no.

Top 10, yes.

This I agree with.

Yeah Chad Johnson just seems like the kind of guy that I'd love to hang around and stuff. Seems like he's always having a good day and having fun. I like the guy.

I can't take this thread serious if you automically put Miles as number 1.

Andre Johnson
Larry Fitzgerald
Reggie Wayne
Randy Moss
Anquan Bolden

Miles Austin is a budding star but the above guys have been doing longer than two years.

Not sure he makes my top 5. He's close though...

1. Brandon Marshall
2. Andre Johnson
3. Larry Fitzgerald
4. Vincent Jackson
5. Wes Welker
6. Reggie Wayne
7. Miles Austin

If Miles keeps up this pace next year, he moves into the top 5.

I can see Marshall, Johnson, Jackson, and Miles being the elite WR's in this league for years to come.

Give it a few years we will see Miles Austin become a top 5 WR.

My top 5

Randy Moss
Larry Fitzgerald
Wes Welker
Andre Johnson
I'm surprised no mentions Hines Ward. This dude is incredibly underrated. Miles Austin reminds me alot of him.

Miles is:

17th in Catches
5th in Yards
4th in Average per Catch
5th in Yards per Game
4th in TDs
T 2nd in plays 20+ yards
3rd in plays 40+ yards

So IMO he is clearly a top 5 WR this season. The only place he is lacking is in catches which is due to his not starting several games.

Based on one year, yes he is top 5, not sure that it is even debatable that he is not.

However, as some have pointed out he will need to have production like going forward before he moves ahead of the more proven WRs.

I can say this, the list would be pretty short if we were talking about WRs that I would trade straight up for Miles based on the remainder of their careers and not just one season. Miles is 25 and will only get better. Thats if I were a GM. Being I am a fan, you can have the rest of them thank you very much. I will keep Miles Austin. He is a Cowboy born and raised. I would rather have that than a hired gun.

Have you been watching the Patriots this year? Randy Moss doesn't belong in this conversation any more than Terrel Owens does.

No one mentions Ward because no one likes the ****ing Stealers. Hines gets away with bloody murder out there, and no one calls it. He's good though, to be sure. So is Steve Smith (Panthers), but he's a POS too, and has no QB to speak of...no offense Matt Moore.

Marshall belongs in that category too, but his production and talent are undeniable, and IMPROVING. Scary.

Ward, Smith, Moss...are all becoming relics. They'll still have their great games, but they aren't elite anymore IMO.

Ward is slow as hell, they're completely different players except in size.
