We should be an attractive place for any unsigned OG's...hopefully we bring in a few to compete.

Is this the strong legged kid? If so, come on down to kick off buddy.

very good list..

but lets be honest here.. what are the chances that any UDFA gets signed this year? I know that it is the last little bit of excitement that we have now that the draft is over but lets be realistic.. guys like Tyson Thompson and Thomas Howard are few and far between.. but moreso than that, our roster is ALOT better at this point this year than it was after the draft last year.. I just cant see any UDFA beating out anyone we have on the roster now.. actually, there are some bubble guys (K. Coleman, K. Thornton, T. Johnson, J. Beriault, etc) that are gonna be gone that are pretty good players.. BUT-- this is a very very good problem to have!

Reggie McNeal was drafted. Marcus Vick was not. Like him or hate him he deserves to be at the top of any list of undrafted FAs.

That's the guy... 70 per cent of his kickoffs went for touchbacks...

we wont take a kick off specialist its not a BP thing to do and it wastes a roster spot.

Parham and Fifita come on down . . .

Ooops, been a long two days... I proofread that list and everything, LOL...

As for Vick, he was never on my board, so it would tough for him to be at the top of my list of undrafted FAs, wouldn't it??

I'm no itt tech fan but Taurean Henderson, RB, Texas Tech is a tough guy.

Aldo DeLaGarza, Tx A&M, got beat out by underclassmen - just say no.

All I need to know is Henderson is the NCAA's all time leading receiver among running backs...

Martin Nance and/or Hank Baskett are two of the top UFA's out there. I like them both and they both have more talent than Copper. Miles Austin is also worth considering.

Montavious Stanley was a nice pick, but I'd love to see Tommy Jackson and/or Steve Fifita brought in to compete for the backup NT job.

Mike Kudla is a DE/OLb prospect that could be worth a look.

Kai Parham may have run a slow 40 but he's been very productive in college. He'd be a nice signing.

On the OL, three guys with mid to late draft grades that I like are Mike Degory, C, FL, Adam Stenavich, G, Michigan and Derek Morris, OT, NC State.

JD Runnels could give Lousaka Polite a serious run for his money at FB. He's a punishing blocker.

And I like the idea of signing Josh Huston to kick off and groom as Vandy's eventual replacement.

Seventh-round Dish: What a relief it is
April 30, 2006 Print it

By War Room scouts
For Sporting News

Round 7 is one of extreme emotions for the players. For the remaining highly rated prospects such as Texas DT Rodrique Wright, Maryland CB Gerrick McPhearson, Auburn WR Devin Aromashodu, Auburn DE Stanley McClover, Syracuse DE James Wyche and Southern California G Fred Matua, there is a sense of relief that they didn't go undrafted.

The chips on their shoulders already had started to grow, and we will soon find out whether their long wait will serve as additional motivation to show everyone that a mistake was made.

For players with reasonable expectations, who hoped that they would be drafted late and join the elite group of college football players who get a chance to be selected by an NFL team, hearing their name called after almost 18 hours of waiting, was very exhilarating.

The surprise picks, players without expectations of being picked, are beside themselves at being considered an "elite" player, as many come from small schools and have played below the radar.

In the hours following the draft, there is a frenzy of phone calls as the teams try to sign the top remaining players to free agent contracts, in most cases with just a token signing bonus. But where bidding wars begin, the bonus can be $10,000, $15,000, or in extreme cases, $20,000. The players whose phones already have started ringing and will have the biggest demand are:

Anwar Phillips, CB, Penn State
Manaia Brown, DT, Brigham Young
Steve Weatherford, P, Illinois
DonTrell Moore, RB, New Mexico
Mike Bell, RB, Arizona
Andre Hall, RB, South Florida
Gerald Riggs Jr., RB, Tennessee
Greg Lee, WR, Pittsburgh
Hank Baskett, WR, New Mexico
Martin Nance, WR, Miami (Ohio)
Jon Scifres, K, Southwest Missouri State
Patrick Ross, C, Boston College
Mike Degory, C, Florida
Adam Stenavich, G, Michigan
