Here's a list of top FS, and CB's in the draft. I know many don't like the idea of moving Henry to FS, but look at this as an option if we need to...if a top CB falls to us...

Here's a list of FS/DB's that could fall...some can play both:

Michael Huff FS/CB (most likely FS)
Jimmy Williams CB/FS (plays either)
Antonio Cromartie CB/FS (most likely CB)
Jason Allen FS/CB (most likely FS)
Donte Witner FS (to small for my likeing at FS)
Ko Simpson FS

There is a very good chance one of these players falls to us in either the 1st or 2nd round....don't lock yourself into thinking we must only take FS...i'd take any of them combined with top OLB in the first two rounds and be happy.

I'm thinking as well as Huff ran during the combine that someone drafts him to play corner. I could be wrong though.

I like Cromartie a lot.
But where we pick is not good at landing him.
I see him going late first early 2nd at the latest.
I like Whitner too. He's very smart and a good tackler and not bad in man to man as he has played some corner in college.
We need a real FS out of this draft.
In the second round I have them ranked like this.
FS
1.Jason Allen
2.Donte Whitner
CB
1.Antonio Cromartie
2.Kelly Jennings

Agreed 100% Port.

Cromartie may have the most upside of any of them.

My favorite would be Jason Allen, but I am becoming a believer of Donte Whitner the more I read about him.

Cromartie has some wheels on him. I'm a U fan, so this kid isn't my favorite, lol, but can't deny his talent.

Always liked Kelly Jennings as a tough cover corner, shot up some boards though.

The best corner out there is Jonathan Joseph. He is 5'11" and ran a 4.31. He reminds me alot of Terence Newman. If Dallas takes a secondary player, I hope it is this guy. He should be there in the 2nd round due to him leaving college early. Play Newman and Joseph at the CB positions and move Henry to FS. I know alot of people will say that is a waste of money, but it isn't. With the increase in salary cap space, players (including FSs) will make much more money. Joseph has more potential than Jason Allen, Jimmy Williams, and Comatrie, but he is purely a CB. The only better overall athelete than Joseph is Huff and he will be long gone by 18.

Most players won't be very happy when told they'll be a FS instead of a CB. The $$$ is just so drastically different when they eventually become free agents.

If you're looking for a CB that will move to FS, I'd suggest looking at ones that were a step slow in their 40 or ones from teams that used a lot of zone, both of which will cause corners to slip.

Why is Tye Hill not in this discussion? He's short but the kid is fast and can play. Apparently, he was quite impressive at the Senior Bowl too.

I would like him alot more than Jimmy Williams, Antonio Comartie, Jason Allen, and Josh Bullocks. But my favorite is definitely Joseph, Tye Hill being my 2nd choice. He is extremely fast and smart and reminds me of Aaron Glenn. If Hill was 5'11" he would be the first corner taken, even over Huff. Unfortunatley like you said he is short (5'9").

This sight had him listed at 5'10. :)

Sounds as though he plays the run well and is a pretty good kid, too.

How tall was Daryl Green?

:hammer:

Cedric Griffin, Allen Zemaitis, Danieale Manning- one of those could be around in round 3 and all of them could be a solid first year starter.

I would not mind seeing Dallas get Griffin in the 3rd rd and I think he could be moved to FS

Wasn't Green like 5'10"? Most of the websites have your boy at 5'9 and 5/8 inces tall. Just a tad shorter than 5'10. He is a great player though and if he is there in the 2nd, I would be upset if the Cowboys didn't take him. I think Joseph will be there for Dallas's 2nd round slot, but Hill will be gone by the first round.

I think we're trading down in the first round and drafting KO Simpson with the lower 1st round pick. In return, we'll get a low 2nd rd pick or a high third. Then we're using our original 2nd round pick on OL and the extra 2nd or 3rd round pick on OLB.
