Torry Holt Asks For Release

Dunno if I want an aging guy with diminishing skills.

Harrison, for instance, just looked awful last year every time I watched him.

I'd take Holt or Joey Galloway.

Agreed. No way we sit still. We have to get someone besides Crayton or Austin to start opposite Roy.

If we could afford him and needed a #1 or 2 WR then I'd be all over this guy who is a HOF WR and very productive esp in a passing attack. We don't need him and should spend resources on the LOS then LBs then DBs esp S.

Edit: Just got home after 6 hr drive. Just saw the TO released thing. Holt would be a great choice to be complementary with RWR.

I don't think you have to go get someone.

This does help explain that second round tender on Sam Hurd though.

Anyway, I think you could draft someone. But I think you're top three to four receivers are solid as is, and you've got some weapons at RB and TE too.

we did cut TO.

We can afford him and should make every effort to sign him IMO.

Agree to a point. We are going to become more of a running team next year, I fully believe that.

We dont have an explosive receiver besides Austin, and I dont trust him as the No. 2. I feel if we brought in Holt or Galloway to be a number 2, that would only help us. Both are high character guys, and would be coming here for a ring. They also wouldnt bring baggage.

That's why I mentioned them. Galloway, in particular, still has that deep speed to scare a defense, but his age should keep his price down somewhat.

Galloway is seriously the perfect No. 2 reciever for Dallas. Somehow, even at 37 or 38 he still has his speed.

If he can stay healthy and is cheap, it would be nice for him to finish his career with Dallas.

His health is a question, but he has been nothing but great for the Bucs.

I seriously think we draft a WR this year, and we may possibly slide up to get one now.

Yeah I just edited my post as I saw the sticky on TO. I am shocked as I thought it best to keep him until RWR proved he was a 1.

We'll be ok without another WR but I'd love Holt. Thanks for the heads up tho.

Roy said in that interview a few weeks ago he has always been the #1........:lmao:

Yeah, he owes us like 40tds and 5,000 yards still. Bring him in for a look see.

At least he still believes the hype, though.

The guy has had one good season in the NFL. Even his stats from that year have been matched by some #2s around the league.

I hope he's right but right now I'm a bit skeptical. This post got me smiling though. Thanks.

Of any of the older guys that people are throwing around as possibly getting, to line up with Roy, Holt is the only one I'd consider.

Harrison is older than Holt and coming off back to back well below average seasons cause of knee troubles. The guy just doesn't have it anymore.

Galloway is coming off a season in which he couldn't even stay on the field in games he was actually activated for cause he was always hurt. Thanks, but no thanks.

I agree. Joey is such a great guy but I don't think he can do it anymore. Holt likely has a year or two left in him but for me it'd have to be the right money. Harrison can likely be a role player for someone for the right money but I wouldn't take that to the bank. Harrison is the prototype for the quick precise route WR. Or was.
