Torry Holt May Be Released

Wednesday morning an anonymous tip came to a local sports-talk station saying the Rams had released cornerback Fakhir Brown. The caller knew what he was talking about. The following morning, the same voice called at about the same time and said Linehan was trying to release or trade wide receiver Torry Holt because the two despise each other.

I think he would follow the money along with the better chance to win.. Like here... They have Smith, Muhammed and just payed for Hackett as well... Grandted hes better than the last two but I think we could probably give him more money.

Well, like said above, he and Linehan have clashed. If you remember that NFLN game against the Steelers last year, when the game was out of reach at the end, Linehan and other Rams players were laughing it off, and Holt really got p'd off.

Before the situation gets worse, if they can't trade him, then might as well release him.

Just another thing on this subject. I was watching ESPN earlier and Jackson was ripping the coaches for pulling Bulger in favor of Green. Why blow up the team because the players are not performing for a coach? I keep the 60 million dollar QB I just signed along with Holt and fire the coach. I would put Haslett in as the interim as well. I know he lost the team in New Orleans but the first couple of years he got production from Aaron Brooks and we all know how he turned out.

Holt was my target for an offseason trade (our second round pick prior to the draft). I think his skills make him a good fit here. I'm pretty pleased with our production from our young WRs, though. I can't see us giving up enough at this point to make it worth the Rams while or beat out another interested team.

And you can't tell me they couldn't get at least a 7th for him, which is still better than outright releasing him.

Generally, if a quality receiver's talent seems like it is up for grabs, the convo starts here, since the consensus seems to be that the 'boys still need a receiver.

This thread falls right in line with other threads about Boldin, Wr Roy Williams, and Chad Johnson.
