With Tory James out there with not team, why haven't the Cowboys made a move for him? Hes big and was still pretty skilled last year. He could be an asset in the nickel and while Newman is away.

Anyone know anything else about him?

I dunno-if "he's really big and skilled and a good asset", then why doesn't he have a job by now?

Who knows? Thats what I am asking? He had a decent season last year and no health problems I know of.

Probably wants too much money. Probably asking for 2 million plus. He would be an upgrade but the price tag would probably be enomours.

True, but we have lots of cap room, sign him to a one year deal and be done with it.

And I cant imagine him wanting that much money.

James is 6-2, 190 pounds and was released by the Pats on September 7 to allow room for return Assante. He's 33 and apparently had a sub-par year in 06 which is way Bengals didn't retain his services. Pats beat out several other teams for James' services in April 07.

Good question why we didn't look at him except his preseason game tapes would have been available and could be he on par as Aaron Glenn and Cowboys thought Reeves would do just as well.

That's about all I can think of except maybe Cowboys like Oglesby, the CB they claimed off waivers from Ravens(?). You saw they didn't release him but did Nate Jones to make room for Johnson. Maybe we will see Oglesby some time soon if he's got enough talent to help this team.

BTW: I believe the Pats signed him to a $1.3M contract back in April 07 so doubt he would be asking even that much. As I said earlier, maybe the Cowboys just like they've seen of Oglesby in the week he's been here.

He's a poor man's Anthony Henry. He will make some picks every now and then, but more often then not he'll get burned by a double move. The Bengals let him walk and they just gave up 51 to Cleveland. So...

I think they should at the very least bring him in to talk. Especially with the uncertainty of Newman's return.

Agreed 100%.

We need to see what our young guns can do. No more big money to old players.

No more old man Rivera's on this squad.
