TO's best years so far

Most Cowboy fans totally supported resigning TO for 3 more years. However, a few members of the media & supposedly some other GMs around the NFL weren't so sure it was a smart move; you know the old adage, you don't pay big bucks to players over 30. But of course all of those GMs chose not to sign TO back in 06.

Anywa, here's TO's stats going back to when he was drafted in the 3rd round by SF in 97. He caught his most TDs (16) in 2002 with SF. However, he caught his 2nd most TDs (15) with the Cowboys in 07. Frankly I don't know of any reason (barring injuries to TO or Romo) why he can't equal or surpass his best season (16) in the upcoming season. In fact TO recently said he & Romo were still working on improving their timing this year which is way the OTAs are so valuable. In fact I'd love to see him catch at least 20 TDs this year which means Romo gotta throw at least 40+ this year. Hopefully we also improve our runnning game & score at least 10 more TDs with MBIII & Felix. BTW: Eagle fans must be sick every time TO's success in Dallas is mentioned. Love it.

Sorry for the scored up stat mess. It looked fine before I posted it. Maybe the mods can fix it up. Why does this always seem to happen to me when I try to post stats & frequently copy an article but junk always seems to sneak in.

Thanks TwoDeep3 but how did you manage it. Looks like you just retyped the whole thing. In any case appreciate it but please tell me how you really did it.

I copied yours, then made a template from the last year as a Cowboy. I copied and pasted that to each line and changed the numbers.

I don't think we will see much of a dropoff this year from TO because he is such a specimen, but 20 TD catches is a pipe dream IMO. That is just too difficult, and this team has too many options for one guy to get that many. (though its a problem I like having):starspin

I am happy we resigned him. Curious as to which team he will go into the Hall of Fame, 9ers or Boys.

Yep, heard him with my own ears. There will be opposition to him making the HOF from not only the SF & Philly writers but probably a few more. OTOH, if the Cowboys win at least 1 SB soon it makes it much easier to get in. After all, his stats probably have him close to #1 Jerry Rice by the time he hangs up his cleats.

If TO remains in Dallas for the entire length of his new contract & performs at a top level, including helping to win at least 1 SB (hopefully more), who here would oppose his induction into Cowboys ROH.

Terrell will be great this season and I also agree that it could be his best season yet. He has had time to become familiar with Garret's offense and with Romo's play. This will be when it all comes together for him. His best season yet is not just reasonable, it is quite possible, even likely.

As for the HOF, I don't doubt that he belongs there (especially if he earns a SB Ring) but I also believe he will have some opposition to his being inducted. In the end he will get in, just like Irvin did. Whether they like it, or not. He has been just that good on the field, never broken a law off of it and he has been good for the NFL as a whole.

Players don't go in with a team in football... That's baseball...

They go in as a player from a certain team though, he said he wants to go in as a Cowboy. I see him having another career year this season, the guy is a machine.

Just because he plays his last year with the cowboys doesn't mean he will go in a cowboy. He will go in as T.O. now if he wants to use Jerry Jones as his spokesperson, then we got something

Or maybe Romo :D

wouldn't that be cool.

It's noting to do with where you play your last year, it's where you have produced the best. If he stays here for another 3 years that would make him a Cowboy for 5+ seasons, he wants to and will go in as Terrell Owens - Dallas Cowboy....if he get's a ring then there in not even a bit of doubt about it.

well, so far it is the only place where he has not had a bad experience.

Romo is outstanding in dealing with him and Jerry is an owner that any player would want to work for. His problems were with QBs and ownership before and those aren't going to be issues here. I don't foresee problems with other players on the team because MOST guys he's played with really liked him as a teammate

I think it is structured as a 2 year deal and that is what Jones has committed to IMO and made TO content in the process. If he stays for the final 2 years then that means he is still highly productive.

My first thought was that TO was going to ask Jerry Rice. Seriously. TO idolized Rice. They had some spats in SF but mostly because they are both such fierce competitors. Any WR would be honored to have Rice induct them.

This will be T.Os best season ever..mark it down right now, Romo is improving every single year and if terrell stays in shape like he always does, there is no telling.

I poredict about 18 Td's and 1,400 yards. Wait and see:bow:
