Why don't we trade Atrain and Price for somebody we'll actually play. Those guys are spares and we could get a decent safety for them.

I don't know about Pile, but look at it this way;

We all know he got to play alot-since we saw him on the field and Davis on the sidelines.

But we didn't see him get burned.

Maybe that's a positive? I'm not sure, but I don't remember seeing him get beat

Right ... if we trade Price and A-train during the same season we signed them as FA's, how many other FA's do you think will sign with us in the future ????

I doubt seriously that Cowboys trade two players that they have signed this year....This is not Madden 2006...

Bad Idea IMO!

Lets give Pile a shot. He does not have to be great, just solid. Just be in position, and play the position correctly. I can live with that.

Peerless just got here and has to work his way in. What if we get an injury, he will then become very valuable.

Same with A-Train, if we get an injury at the position, he becomes very valuable.

That is some good depth there, and you should not just trade away depth because we will need it at some point or another.

I think Pile can do the job. We also need to do a much better job with our scheme. I at least want to give that a shot first.

How short sighted was not addressing Safety? Geez - this team has the fixings of a contender but we are are giving up plays left and right deep not having any cover safeties.

Go get a Vet Cornerback and convert him. Heck even the Bills figured that one out. The FS position is evolving into more a cornerlike job yet we keep throwing SS's out there.

Nate Jones, maybe?

BP seems to think he can handle the mental aspects well enough . . . . Don't know if he can cover well enough though . . . .

It obviously helped the Jets become a better team.

Shortsighted? I think there is only so much that you can address in one off season. They got a free agent nose tackle, two rookie defensive ends, one rookie DE/OLB, another rookie OLB, a starting corner, a nickel corner and then ended up trading for another LB in pre-season. That is a lot of work to improve the defense. Looks like they are working from the front to the back. Beef up the line, then the linebacker, then the secondary. Step by step, they are getting better. So, I don't think it was shortsighted as much as they are still a work in progress.

Just trying to remind everyone why these guys are here.

Though they may not be contributing now, you may thank the heavens they are here later.

I wonder if Sam Lightbody can play FS...

I hate these kinds of posts because all you are doing is complaining about something but you have no solution to the problem. Every week it seems yet another person comes out with some ridiculous trade scenario where we trade away guys THEY think are expendable but they don't have any clue as to who to trade them for.

Just trade a couple guys for a safety, any safety, just so long as he is a pro-bowl caliber player right? Of course, teams are always anxious to trade away their pro-bowl players for scrubs who were available on the FA market for months before we decided to sign them.

Just a suggestion, the next time you feel the urge to fix the team, do some research first and come up with a viable name... and then don't post it.

Thanks

Ummm, when was the last time you saw a trade like this? Let me help you out -- NEVER. Player for player(s) trades are still pretty uncommon in the NFL compared to other sports - during the season they are rare. Do you even follow the game?
