Looks like Denver is going through what we did last year- they are already down their top two centers for the year and now playing a converted guard. You would think they are all in with peyton. We seem to have pretty good depth at the position all of a sudden (assuming Fred pans out). Would you trade Costa if you could get a 4th or 5th? We gave us a 7th for Cook last year and I think Costa is a little better. We could keep Cook and Mack for center depth. Anyhow, bored on a Sunday. What say you zoners?

I can't think of one position on our team whee we have good/great depth. Possibly WR, but other than that, NONE AT ALL..

Wow.

There isn't a GM in the league that would trade for Costa, Kowalski or Cook.

Don't be ridiculous. These guys are staples of the OL that Jerry Jones has told us half the league would prefer to have over their own OLs.

Why on earth would we take an already thin position and trade someone who has shown potential for a mid-late round pick? This makes absolutely no sense.

Costa wouldn't even get us a 4th round sniff at this point.

Where did he say that? Link please because I must have missed it?

I would say we have good depth at WR, TE and RB. Maybe not "great" at the moment, but certainly good at each position with potential to be better.

Well, that could be true considering that half the teams in the NFL are not competitive. Maybe that is what he means?

I think it's pretty clear what he meant when he said it last year.

The difference between Dallas being a 4 to 5 win team and Dallas being even in the ballpark of competitive is Tony Romo. If he meant that the OL is better simply because the team is "competitive" then he's further off the trail than just saying that the OL is better because he thinks the OL is better.

That is a good point. And I agree that if not for Romo this team would be a 4 or 5 win team.

I'm not big into stock piling 7th round picks while coming off a season where it felt like half the team went on IR. I just hope Costa can show something.

Holding onto Mike Jenkins and Felix Jones sure worked out.

No one will trade for Costa but if Denver called, I'd do it for a sack of new footballs.

You dislike Denver that much?

So you weaken the team at one of the weakest areas just for the sake of making a move? Madden generation...

well costa will be a free agent next year and Kowalski still has two more years under exclusive contract I think. I do not believe that costa will be resigned so might as well get something for him. a fourth or fifth round pick would be great value for him.

No, you have faith in the guy you drafted. We all would like more depth but not at the cost of holding onto players until you lose them for nothing. I didn't say I wanted to make a move. I said I would move Costa if Denver offered value.

Overrating current backups? Jerry Jones generation.....

I'm for what the OP proposes, but only if we throw in Coakley for a 2nd rounder.

That's a valid point.

The thing that needs to be kept in mind is that veterans period... even the good players. Heck Marshall Falk garnered what a 2nd and 5th? Randy Moss was swopped for a 4th round pick.

That's how it is for the most part.

And I think draft picks have gotten even more valuable over the last couple seasons (in the eyes of the NFL clubs) so to get anything for a player is saying something.
