Trade Down? Top 5 potential NFL Draft trade partners for Cowboys

http://cowboyswire.usatoday.com/201...tential-nfl-draft-trade-partners-for-cowboys/

In a draft with nary a consensus on the best quarterback, much less the best cornerback, edge rusher or defensive tackle, it could be a crazy season of trading as teams tussle over draft positioning. Teams could just as easily leapfrog the Cowboys as work with them, but here we’ll focus on the possibilities if Dallas is looking to bail on their spot.

As each team sees each prospect in a different light, here are the teams we see as the Top Five candidates to make a deal with.

The Top Five

5. Philadelphia Eagles (currently picking 8th)

Trade with a rival?! They’ve actually done first round business before. This only happens if Philly doesn’t think they can trade with Jacksonville or Baltimore to jump over San Fran, or if they think Dallas is taking their QB. The hesitation would be facing a guy Dallas moved away from for the next 15 years.

Trade proposal: Dallas sends their 1st (1800 pts) to Philadelphia for their 1st and two 3rds (1800 pts)...

I want Philly's 1st and 2nd (only if Wentz is off the board).

Edit: I think the only teams I'm listening to is L.A. or Chicago in this scenario.

These trade down (or up) scenarios are always fun to check out.
Most of the trade partners are reasonable
I do notice that the article has Dallas getting the better end of every single one of those trades chart-wise. That is pretty much the opposite on how it works with Jerry. He's one of the few that often is willing to give up more than he gets to make the trade happen--at least by the charts.
So, to make it more realistic, we'd need to add an extra later pick to get each of those trades.

The eagles don't have a 2nd round pick and if Wentz is off the board then they ain't trading up anyway

They have the Cowboys giving up their 1st and 4th for the Rams' 1st and two 2nd rounders. Uh, no!

We shouldn't give up a fourth to drop to 15. If anything we should get their 4th, especially if the Rams are moving up for a franchise quarterback.

I like the Rams option a lot. This draft seems pretty short on dynamic players and that type of ammo would help Dallas build with a lot of the "good" young players this year's class seems pretty full of.
