I don't know the specifics of his contract but now would be a good time to get this player at a discount price.

The Bears stink and Jeremy Langford is showing promise.

Kinda weird how the Bears were playing Langford a lot this past Sunday as well.

No.

There are NO talks from what I hear. None, Nada, Zilch, Zero.

It's been 3 games in and the hit would be over 5 million now. It's going down, but we only have 2 million to spend. Without Romo, and without seeing what we have in Cmike I am totally agaist this btw!!!

Is Forte any better than the backs we have? I don't think so.

No thanks. No need to give up picks for an older back unless you are getting Adrian Peterson.

No. They gave up Murray and would make a deal (same money/current contract) for an older player? No. It was an idea, though.

Would he he make us much better? NO. We can still get the same yardage by committee. If the backs name is not AP forget about it. Forte is not going to lead us to the promised land.

Overall you are probably right. I dont know Forte would have a huge impact in the offense considering how they played last week

But Forte is infinitly better then any back we have on the roster

What I meant is that Forte is not worth trading for and we can achieve his yardage with the guys we have.

Are we really all that unhappy with our RBs?

It seems so...sadly. Personally, I think the sum of the parts (minus KEY players) is not equal to a whole at present. If you look at a team as a closed system, then each part is a cog and currently there are too many missing cogs to make it function efficiently and effectively (as a whole). No. I don't think Matt Forte would make ANY difference, and definitely not worth draft picks, which we have already given up this year bringing in other players.

I agree. Our cogs are just a little gummed up. We've got a few that are out for repair, and the new one's don't fit quite as well.

I love Forte as a player, but at 30 years old, in the last year of a deal, and with his salary and with the problems in the running game having more to do with zone blocking than with the backs, it'd be stupid to trade for him.

I would like the player but for this year it is clear that Weeden will determine our outcome more than a top notch running back, until Weeden can see and understand the routes better(there's a whole other game going on that he is missing) the RB position will make no difference. When Tony gets back after Thanksgiving the league should be nervous if we still have a chance. Dez coming back will impact minimally with Weeden. IMO
