Trade ideas for Leary

Since Leary wants out and he is a starting caliber guard I am wondering what kind of trade targets we might be able to net for him.

I would think he would be worth a DE, CB, or SS. Maybe even a backup QB.

Any ideas? Glennon? Foles? Leary only has a 1 one year contract so that could complicate things but I would think the team trading for him could sign him to an extension. It sounds like he just wants to be a starter.

You're not going to get a starting quality DE, CB, or safety out of him. You're most likely not going to get a starting quality anything out of him unless another team has an abundance of one of those positions and is in panic mode about their starting guards.

Trade him for a pick or you tell him to show up and be ready to play.

He's not going to play poorly - it would be a contract year for him. He's got enough good tape to get a big deal elsewhere next off season and would have even more incentive to play well if he gets some run because of an injury.

I would take Glennon..

Personally i wish Leary would just play out this year and be part of a Superbowl run...Two years ago he was arguably one of our best players.

I think it's pretty damn obvious that Collins is going to be a monster...he sees that...but injuries happen all the time...

I understand how he wants to be a starter though.

Why don't we make it out of training camp and preseason to see if we survived any injuries on the OL and if any backup OG besides Leary can play. Nothing wrong with depth. Protecting Tony is more important than any average DE/DB/QB we might get for him.

Agreed. I would keep him for quality depth. He's at a bernadeau price point more or less and is twice as capable. He would be first in line for guard replacement and would even give us flexibility if we needed to move out one of our existing guards to tackle (e.g., if Free were to go down and Green was not ready to replace him for whatever reason...u could slot Leary in at LG and move Collins out to RT and not experience too much of a drop off I think).

Leary is too valuable as a rotational guard to trade him for virtually nothing. Must get a 3rd round pick or a conditional 3rd rounder atleast. Otherwise keep him for the year and get a comp 4th rounder when he signs elsewhere. I think a team may trade an older de, lb, or safety for him as well.

I want a 2nd or a true 3-Tech, maybe a DE with 8 sacks per on his resume...

Ryan Davis DE Jax. They have 14 bodies on their DL right now. He plays the same position as Fowler. He's youngish, plays a need position and might end up on the cutting floor regardless.

The guy I want from the JAX is Telvin Smith. Hybrid SS/OLB who reminded of me of Darren Woodson when he came out of school, 6'3 220 4.4, great in coverage and hits like a mofo.

I was thinking the same. Both have the same RFA contracts as well. Worth a look. Doubt he's cut though. Played well last year

I agree, the other team would have to be in a similar position as Dallas with 2 starting quality players of the same position, which would also need to be a position we have a need at. Leary is a good player though, so I hope we hang on to him if we arent able to get just that.

I want to be in the shape I was in at 21.
:flagwave:

me too, I also want to date Daisey Ridley. I don't think she'd go for me unless I'm in shape like I was when I was 21. Such a vicious circle.

Looking over the Titans' roster, I think a player Like Karl Klug would make some sense in a player-for-player deal. A bit of a tweener, but a try-hard player that I think Marinelli would appreciate.
