Trade ideas for Leary

Since Leary wants out and he is a starting caliber guard I am wondering what kind of trade targets we might be able to net for him.

I would think he would be worth a DE, CB, or SS. Maybe even a backup QB.

Any ideas? Glennon? Foles? Leary only has a 1 one year contract so that could complicate things but I would think the team trading for him could sign him to an extension. It sounds like he just wants to be a starter.

Leary is worth more to us than whatever we can get for him, I fully expect him to stay.

For this season? No, he has not. He gets paid weekly just like the other player salaries.

I'm sure he would prefer a $15 million signing bonus on a long term deal.

He signed a tender...and Yea, it was North of $2 million...see if you can go direct to him quitting and losing out on it.

Now see if you can start using your own reasoning abilities and not be a negative drain.

I would take Glennon..

Personally i wish Leary would just play out this year and be part of a Superbowl run...Two years ago he was arguably one of our best players.

I think it's pretty damn obvious that Collins is going to be a monster...he sees that...but injuries happen all the time...

I understand how he wants to be a starter though.

I agree. I wish he would stay at Guard and we could kick Collins out to Right Tackle. I am not a Doug Free fan. Too inconsistent for my taste.

Do you work in some weird industry where they pay your annual salary in a lump sum at the beginning of the year? Sure, he signed his tender giving him a salary "north of $2 million" this season. He hasn't pocketed any bit of that and won't until week 1 (where he will get 1/17th of it).

Not sure where you made the deduction that I wanted him to quit. I'm sure he will report in time to not miss a single pay check. What I am sure of is that he and his agent would prefer a long term lucrative deal and that's going to be hard to come by if he's at best the 6th lineman and worst inactive some weeks since he doesn't have positional flexibility. Maybe he gets lucky and there's an injury to Martin or Collins and he gets to play. Heading into next offseason with little to no game tape available for a year and a half isn't going to make it easy to get that one big contract.

Sorry if you feel that reality is a negative drain. At least you have your year's salary already in the bank to spend. Me, I'll have to go into work tomorrow and I believe I do get paid since it's the 31st.

Son, I was a Government employee for 40 years...now run along and try playing with someone else. As you were...

Why don't we make it out of training camp and preseason to see if we survived any injuries on the OL and if any backup OG besides Leary can play. Nothing wrong with depth. Protecting Tony is more important than any average DE/DB/QB we might get for him.

Exactly, People want to get rid of players and we haven't had one training camp yet. Teams aren't going to cut players until at least after the dress rehearsal game.

Stay patient.

A team will lose a starting guard in the preseason. (In fact, that team could be Dallas.)

The Cowboys are much likely to get a better player or draft pick if the need is pressing on the other side.

Wait.
