I wouldnt be opposed but not for moving up in the first Rd, i would love to have another 2nd Rd pick this year with so many good DBs who will still be there in the 2nd RD.

Well..

I know nobody initially wants to do this..

But if 2016 was any indication..

We are going to finish at the bottom of the draft with another good season in 2017.

Which makes me think that draft choice is going to be nearly a 2nd Rd pick in effect like this year's.

With all the defensive talent available and us losing so much in FA..

I value our 2017 first pick to be expendable.

Should we use it to move back into the 1st Rd. and grab a player now ?

We have so many needs right now and need to win now and the Kings, Iggles and Commanders have definitely improved in the offseason..especially at WR.

We need a CB, S and DL..all starters.

I do not see getting all those guys this season without moving up?

Feedback?
If we could get a late round 1st for our 2018 1st I would do it in a heartbeat

Maybe get a Taco and Peppers

No!

The most you would get for a 2018 1st, would be a late 2nd in 2017. That's almost a 3rd. You won't get a guaranteed difference maker in the last 2nd round.

This draft is way to deep in defense to be trading away our pick to move up, that would be insane IMO. For our needs, we got lucky as hell, it's almost as this draft was meant for us. It's hard to imagine a better situation as far as a draft class and our defense.
Maybe.

Frankly..I have deep doubts about our defensive draft picks.

We don't seem to have a clue.

Look at our picks defensively.

Practically none of our top picks are even on the field due to suspension.

The rest like Carr and Claiborne and our safeties.

we over paid and never got great play from them.

So if we can focus like we do on offense..

Maybe.

Do it. We basically did the same thing by picking Jaylon Smith lasts year.

True but if we are to believe Jerry doesn't have as much influence then perhaps we won't be taking risks with players who have "character issues" like we have in the past.

Can't argue Carr and Claiborne other then, again, it may have been all Jerry.

I'd really find it hard for them to mess up this draft as deep as it is. Sure, someone may not pan out as expected but on paper there will be plenty of great picks for positions we need, especially secondary, deep into the draft.

Not really. Not when the draft grades prove this is the best class (especially on defense thank goodness) in the last 10+ years.
When your talking about trading a 2018 first for a 2017 second your definitely starting to overrate the class. Class is deep, but not overly strong. Similar to 2013 in alot of ways in how deep it was. Difference this the top 30 is much stronger.

A top 50 pick this is year is definitely not worth a top 32 next. If that's the common belief, the. This class has definitely become overrated

I would be dissapointed. I'd rather trade back out of the first this year, get some defensive depth and a right tackle. I hate the idea of moving Collins, and does anyone expect Green to play all 16 games plus some playoff games(hopefully)?

It's actually a pretty simple math equation.

Do we need help now? Absolutely. We need to advance the development of the defense as soon as possible.

To accelerate that move we should do whatever it takes in free agency and the draft now to do so.

If we can get players like Richardson and Sherman in low stakes trades, we should do it. If we can't, we can't.

But if we can trade up into the 1st with only using our 2018 1st to get a player who we think can help us on defense, it makes sense to get that player this year instead of waiting next year. There is no advantage to waiting to get that player next year. With the only caveat being if we're absolutely dreadful this year and the pick ends up being more valuable to us. I think if that is the case you need to blow the team up from a front office perspective and start over with new coaching anyways.

Nah. I'm not a big fan of moving future draft assets. I've just never really seen it work out.

I'm on record as saying that if 2018 and 2019's 1st rounders can get us up to Myles Garrett this year, I'm in.

You keep the rest of your picks this year and in the future, and you have your biggest need filled by the safest, best player in this entire draft.

At that point, save for cornerback (which you can still get obviously), all of your essential need positions are not only filled, but filled with some of the best in the entire league.

And you're among the youngest teams in the league, with plenty of those great players under cheap rookie deals.
