While I want one of the top 2 qbs, if we don't take 1, Cook is who I like of the second tier guys as long as his leadership and locker room stuff checks out

I like most of it, but my only problem with Cook is that this team has shown that they need an elite QB to run this offense successfully. I personally feel Cook's ceiling in the NFL is "average". Looks like he would be an excellent back-up on this team, but we would end up in a similar mode to last season if he was the starter.

If they skip out on QB in the first, I would just prefer they wait to grab Hackenburg in the third or Doughty in the 6th and grab another player that could make a difference on the field in 2016. Probably not much of a difference in our W-L if Romo goes down anyway with these other kids.

Like I said, just my opinion.

There was no locker room stuff. Pure BS. He was 34-5 at MSU and his teammates and coaches loved him. Many quotes and articles saying so. McShay started that nonsense and it sprouted legs from there. Nothing to it whatsoever. He's quirky and cocky and some say abrasive but a GREAT kid. Qualities that A LOT of NFL QB's have frankly.

That locker room stuff and leadership questions about Cook have long since been dispelled. There is some who believe he is the most NFL ready QB in the draft. He may not be the most talented one, but he played in a big time program and won many games, plus he has all the measurable. He is not my choice for this team but if they don't take a QB in the first, Cook wouldn't be a bad consolation prize.

I hear you
I read your other post as well
Sounds like you are close to the situation
It is good to know and j would not mind him in the 3rd round if we have not taken one of the top 3

We can get more than just 1 additional 2nd round pick by trading down.
We could get 2 2nd's from the Rams, as well as swapping 1st's. This would put us at #15 overall, and still possibly get Elliot.

I do like some of the picks, especially Elliot. Though many of these later round picks I do not know anything about. But that will be true with 98% of any mock draft from any person, rather a guru or not.
You did pick 3 DL and 2 CB, areas of need. But I also think LB would be addressed earlier. Depending FA of course. Maybe use the pick earlier for a LB and later for a WR.

Wouldn't mind cook at QB if they do not go QB in the 1st. I like him over Prescott, as was posted asking why not Prescott.
I seen Zettel play some, I liked what I seen from those few games.

Goff and/or Wentz would have to be available at 4 for this to be a possibility. Otherwise teams would have no reason to make a trade up. Of course, assuming Jerry/Stephen are dead set against taking a QB themselves at 4....

When we traded up from 14th to 6th with the Rams for Mo back in 2012, we only gave up one pick, our 2nd rounder. That's the more likely expectation.

Dallas made out well, no way we take that little, heck Brugler argued if say the Rams wanted to trade up from 15, that you should get their first this year and another first next year at minimum.

So the first and two seconds would be essential or I would not even consider the move, just do the math on the trade value.

@bodi - Everyone and their grandmother wants to trade back. Few, if anyone, want to trade up. It might happen, but I wouldn't expect much in return. The 1st round players are all pretty similar in talent level. I doubt any team is keying in on any one player.

Let'ss say we draft either of the top two QB' and the brain trust is wrong

any way Zeek doesn't disturb me as we're looking for difference makers and he will be.

I've heard too many negs about Connor's attitude ,I doesn't seem like his a franchise guy.
I have a question, if we're investing in lower ranked QB's can we find one like around the fourth round?

Replace the Connor pick it with Vonn Bell

by the way bodi I appreciate your time and effort
we're just discussing

Von bell is another Vaccaro. Stop it right now

I love Elliot but too many more needs over rb. I'd go defense at 4 then MAYBE go Henry in round 2 if there. We're gonna have two 4th round picks so that's where we go qb imo

Unless the Rams HAVE to have one of the two QB's, it's not worth trading up at that price.

I could see St. Louis wanting to move up, but not for both their 2s. I could see a 2nd and 3rd or a 2nd and 4th. Unless it's for QB, the trades not worth it for anyone.

If they were trading up for Luck then you could demand a king's ransom to move up. But with the overall talent in the top 10 to be weaker than prior years the cost to move up will likely be MUCH less than most years.

I personally think that if the Cowboys aren't taking a QB at #4 that they would trade the Rams #4 for their 1st, two 2nds and call it a day. You will get a lot more out of those 3 picks than you will get out of the player you take at #4. Said another way, you could give up #4 and fill the entire defensive front with talented players and fix the entire defense in one draft if you wanted to.

The Rams probably wouldn't move up to #4 anyway unless it is for a QB.
