I posted this on RR only to receive moronic flames and insults, but i'll post it here too, and hope that CZ is a little more civilized.

Not many people (excluding me) wanted Price in the first place. But we might be able to trade Price for Walker.

This was Walker's last year in his contract, and I don't really see him coming to terms with Green Bay now after this.

With the way Patrick Crayton has played, I think it's unlikely that we play Price, maybe even if Glenn is injured.

At the chance of finding our franchise receiver without spending a first rounder next year, who would be willing to trade price for walker (knowing he isn't going to play for us this year)?

So we're going to pick guys up from the waiver wire and trade them for first round studs? Sorry, don't want to bust your chops, but c'mon, can't we think of better things to talk about hours after a great opening day win? Did it ever occur to you that if the Packers wanted Price, they would have put in a claim for him?

I thought Walker injured his ACL today?

You, sir, are correct.

From PackersNews.com

What makes this loss especially difficult for the Packers to take, besides the same penalty problems that plagued them in the preseason, is they lost one of their premier players in receiver Javon Walker, whose anterior-cruciate injury almost surely will end his year almost before it started.

Walker out for year as Packers lose season opener to Lions 17-3

I think we signed Price to provide depth. Besides, you can never have enough playmakers.

Last time I checked Walker wasn't injured for the year when Price was out there in free agency.

And first round studs who aren't signed beyond the year, and are injured for the year have very little value for teams.

I will say this, Peerless Price could net us a very high draft pick from Green Bay - certainly only if Peerless didn't include a no-trade clause in his contract.

They will undoubtedly be desperate after that performance today!

Trade him for their next years #2.

Heck, I'd take a #3.

I do feel bad for Walker. He is still playing on his rookie contract, a contract that he has clearly outplayed, and will make a paultry $500K this year. If this is indeed a career threatening injury, he'll never see his payday. Drew Rosenhaus is his agent, maybe this will change his strategy in the TO negotiations.

It would suck to only bank 1/2 Mil for sure. Career threatening injury? Not really. Players come back from ACL's every year.

Most of the time they do these days but things do go wrong in surgery or in the recovery phase. Also, we don't know the extent of the damage right now - could be more than just an ACL.

I feel bad for the kid - he'll need to prove he is healthy for another year before anyone gives him a big mulit-year deal.

I just think at some point we're going to be very glad that we have Price. You said we may not play Price, even if Glenn gets hurt. Who would play then? I can't imagine Copper going in as the third wideout over Price in such a scenario, with the team activating only three wideouts.

I think whether it's as a part-time guy spelling the other receivers or filling in in case of injury, Price can make some plays this season. Based on how well Crayton did today, I'm not sure this team has ever been this deep at wideout. No superstars, but *almost* four interchangeable parts, with the exception that we don't really have another wideout with a similar style to Keyshawn's.

Then why would they want a receiver whose contract is up this year?
