now!He is the hole in the secondary ,and it is quite obvious for years now.Being a pro bowler we would get a nice exchange for him.He is bad in the 3-4,just horrible.Either that or go back to 4-3.or 4-6.

Roy is still a good player. How about getting a competent coordinator who knows how to cover up his deficiencies? How about getting a competent coordinator that understands that you don't put your best pass rusher in coverage so much, especially in obvious passing downs.

Who would trade for a safety that can't cover?

The 3-4 has really nothing to do with Roy. The 3-4 is really only the front 7. It's not his fault we can't rush the passer. Does he have problems is coverage? Yes. Can a decent DC hide some of those problems? Yes.

:hammer:

Decent pressure never hurt any secondary.

Guess we should trade Newman, too.

Whats the difference with him in the 3-4 or 4-3, cause of pressure? Doesn't matter he's a liability.

We played at 8 o'clock, and don't have horseshoes on our helmets. Hasselbeck rarely got touched.

how many times did they get to Hasselbeck? That's what I thought. Pressure got there, he was able to step up and complete passes on a couple occasions.

i bet philly could take Roy and put him next to Dawkins and abuse the rest of the NFL for the next 3-4 years

I bet the same thing for baltimore, pittsburgh, new england, and a few other places.

Roy is a great player...I want to keep him in Dallas. If we can get a quality DC and turn the QB duties over to Carpenter instead of James.....I can see Roy playing better. With Zimmer calling a vanilla scheme and James putting people in the wrong spots....Roy isn't the only one getting burnt. Even the great Terance Newman has been exposed the last 3 games.

He got beat by Stevens on one TD. The last TD was James' responsibility. If Roy doesn't play over the top, then Seattle has an easy TD to the WR running down the right sideline.

Zimmer is predictable. I was telling my friends that when the game gets tight, Zimmer will go to a Cover 2 and Seattle will eventually throw at Bradie for big gains. And then about 2 minutes later Holmgren has Stevens blow by Bradie with a seam route and it's a TD.

Roy is the least of our problems. We have bigger issues with pass rush, Bradie and a D-Coordinator worth a damn on defense.

I'm sick of Roy...

He's not making any big plays, keeps giving up TDs, and apparently can't face the criticism any more

Roy is a good player - he also happens to be the most overrated player on the team. He's good, he's just not what everyone thought he was going to be...............by a longshot.

I love Roy, but I'll agree with this. I believe he is a very good player but not as great as he should/could be. People have bad years, but things can change...especially with a decent DC. Like someone else said, we definitely have bigger fish to fry than Roy Williams. He is not the great liability that everyone says he is. Nobody is perfect and I really can't think of another SS I'd rather have over him.
