Trade up for Darrell Revis?

How would everyone feel if we traded up from 22 to 13 or 14 to leapfrom the Pittsburgh Steelers to select Darrell Revis? When Jerry Jones mentioned impact players he mentioned a punt returner who can do other things. Obviously the first name that comes to mind when thinking a punt returner that can do other things is Ted Ginn Jr. However, after he mentioned punt returner he then said a WR could also be an impact player. This leads me to believe that Darrell Revis may indeed be the guy he was referring to. If we traded our 1st and 3rd to move up to 13 or 14 and selected Revis what would your reaction be?

If Ireland and Jerry and the scouts think he's that good of a player and pretty much knew he wouldn't last much longer... I'd be fine with it.

I think he's a very good corner and he's had a lot of good coaching already. He would contribute his rookie season, that's for sure. Not only as a returner... but also at least on the nickle, I'd bet.

I would be OK with it, as long as we hit WR in the 2nd round.

People talk about moving up for AP and Lynch, but I think it's just as plausible to see a move for Revis or Nelson, provided we don't play a crippling price. I'd be just as content to stay put and take what's available at #22 as well.

Trading up for Nelson would be a horrible move IMO.

Meriweather is a better FS and can be had at #22 if FS is what the Cowboys want.

Revis I have not really thought about trading up for. I do have him rated higher than Leon Hall. I think Revis is a pretty good corner, Hall may be good but I think his draft stock is over rated.

I could see trading up for AP or Lynch because both could bring deminsions to this team we don't currently have and could put us over the top.

I agree and would only expect for this to happen if the brain trust is concerned about Merriweather's character issues and Nelson is available in the latter teens.

Revis' stock is rising so fast I don't think he will be there at 10. But I must say, I have liked this player all along and would be o.k. w/ a move up to get him...

Let's not forget he played for Dave Wannestadt so Jerry should have all the information he needs on him.

Why trade up for a solid CB when Ross is just as good or better and should be there at 22? Doesn't make a lot of sense...

you have really got to be kidding me. you honestly think ROss is as good if not better than Revis? Not only is Revis (on many teams boards) ranked the #1 cb in this draft but he also is a better punt returner than ross is....Ross was toast last yr in the texas secondary and he only has 1 yr of experience. ROss and Griffin would honestly be the only 2 players that we could conceivably select in the 1st that would piss me off......your over your head on this one...

we'd probably have to give up our 2nd in a package to move up, I'd say no, I like Revis alot, but no

Revis is rated above Ross and Griffin. I think Revis is better but we really won't know for awhile. It's interesting how others get so upset my opposing views.

Trade up for Darrell Revis?

Absolutely NOT!

:hammer: X 10000000000

If we hadn't signed Hamling I MIGHT consider trading up for a safety (although I'd like to take a longer look at Watkins before committing a first rounder on a FS). Signing Hamlin means we don't have to draft a FS (didn't really need to anyway) in the first and we sure as hell don't have to trade up for one.

If we DO take a FS, I'd take Merriweather over any FS in this draft (except for maybe Weddle cuz we could get him later) and that includes Landry.

Is Houston sitting there at 22?

Revis will be a real good CB in the NFL but there is NO WAY I'd trade up for him & give away another first day pick. We need all our picks to upgrade this team. We were 9-7 last year not 13-3. Good teams can afford to trade up--all they might need is 1 really good player in each draft. We need more then that.

If we draft smartly & with some luck, we'll add 3-4 good players who can become starters soon--particularly CB, WR, NT, OL & if necessary at LB. No matter what Jerry Jones believes, we are not 1 player away from the SB. If we were, drafting up makes sense but not this year--maybe next year.

Why? The guy isn't Champ Bailey. He isn't even T-Newman. Why trade a 1st and a 3rd for a guy that has the potential to be a good CB in the NFL. I can see moving up for a game-changing player but not for a CB with good, not great, skills.

Right! According to the experts, this is a good CB class but that's all. Revis may be the best of the lot but he is not an elite CB.

Very true. The only caveat is that today's cbs on the FA market are ridiculously overpriced. The draft definitely is the way to go... if you know how to draft...

If we traded up to Carolina's 14th pick and didnt' take Lynch the Cowboys "Lynch Mob" would go ballistic!
