Here is another draft exercise to think about before Thursday night. What would you do if this happened? Don't get too caught up on who goes in the Top 5 here.

1. KC - Eric Fisher
2. JAC - Dion Jordan
3. OAK - Luke Joeckel
4. PHI - Lane Johnson
5. DET - Ziggy Ansah
6. CLE - Dee Milliner
7. ARZ - Geno Smith
8. BUF - Jonathan Cooper
9. NYJ - Tavon Austin
10. TEN - Shariff Floyd
11. SD - Chance Warmack
12. MIA - D.J. Fluker
13. TB - Sheldon Richardson

So after 13 picks, here who is left:
Star Louteleli
Barkevious Mingo
Kenny Vaccaro
Jarvis Jones
Tyler Eifert
Cordarrelle Patterson

To move up to #14, it would cost you 200 points. Our 3rd rounder is worth 190 points.

Would you move up 4 spots to secure Star knowing that NO, STL and PIT could take those top 3 players and wipe you out?

I think in this case I would try to get on the phone and figure out if I could move back.. If unable to move back I think I stay put and get the best available guy.. thats just me. If you were to tell me Cooper was there at 14 that could be a different story.

I think for me, this is actually a realistic scenario that Dallas would have to consider. Star could be a dominant one-technique. You would still have your 2nd round pick, and maybe you could move down in the 2nd to acquire another 4th or so.

To make a mock out of this, I would go:

1. Star Lotulelei
2. Eric Reid
4. Brian Winters
5. Spencer Ware (Or the RB of your choice)
6. Michael Williams

I would move up for Star, Floyd, Fisher or Joeckel only this first round. Those 4 are going to be the elite players in this draft, so yes you can count me in the yes category for Star but I don't think he'll be there.

Even with the issues on the online I would be sick if we gave up a pick to move up and draft a Guard, and I like Cooper a lot, just not a position I'm moving up in the first to get. On the other side if Star or Floyd fell I would be fine with the move up, not thrilled but definitely fine with it. JMO though

Hate to keep giving up picks but I'd trade up for Star in a second. And Jerry wouldn't pass up that kind of marketing synchronicity. The headlines write themselves.

When I think about it, it's amazing how rarely we've drafted a big time DT in the 1st or 2nd round. I feel like I must be forgetting someone, but I have to go all the way back to Too Tall and Randy White. Noonan and Maryland were not really imposing, powerful guys. Maybe Spears had that hope, but I always viewed him as a 3-4 DE.

No. I like Lotulelei, but I would take Sylvester Williams and a 3rd round pick over him. It's possible that SW could be better in Kiffin's defense than SL. Kiffin will sacrifice size/power for speed. SW is much quicker than SL.

Would you mind giving me a brief scouting report on YOUR thoughts on Williams? I spent the night watching him and for me, he is just one of the guys I just don't see it with. I very well could be missing something, but I would like to have someone else's thoughts on him.

I've seen him hot and cold. Seems like a great kid, but so much I've seen is getting blocked on his initial move and being stonewalled. An xwalker breakdown would be a great benefit, I like his thinking.

I am with xwalker on this (i.e.: not trading)...while I love Star, I don't move up in this draft for anyone...we need to hit on all of our picks, not give any back...in this scenario, the only way that I consider it is that I might trade up for Star only if we have to jump over the steelers to get him...then we only have to give a 4th or something from the 2014 draft when we may have comp picks to bolster our draft in the event that we trade picks for this draft

noite: I don't see Star being there anyway

I predict CAR would take Star. NO would take Mingo. STL would take Vaccaro and PIT would take Patterson. Then, we would be left with Jones and Eifert. Neither of which would be good value for us. I would take Sylvester Williams at this point. There really isn't anybody left that teams are going to be lining up to trade up for.

With Cooper, Warmack, and Richardson off the board, I'm moving backwards and picking up some extra picks. I actually think if WR Patterson is still available at 18 (and its likely he will be) there will be teams calling for our pick, like Minnesota for one. Depending on how far we move back in the first, I'm targeting DT Williams, OT Menelik Watson, TE Eifert, DE Werner, and DT Hankins in that order. I know TE seems odd but I think Eifert is going to be a stud and high value in the late 1st, if he lasts that long.

I would give up our 3rd to get Star in a heartbeat. He won't even come close to getting out of the top 10 though so let's not worry about this.

For all that wouldn't take Jarvis Jones at 18 because who we already have? Remember, this is 1 of the top 5 players in the country and the prototypical stud 4-3 outside LB. We could attack the QB from just about anywhere within our front 7 at that point. If we got Sims and Durant, great! Top quality depth and they're not signed up for a mint or a lifetime.

Jarvis Jones is probably the premier pressure player in this draft and he does it at OLB in a 4-3. Just insane the pressure we would bring with Ware, Ratliff, Spencer, Jarvis Jones, Carter and Lee on the field for the majority of the snaps. Get us a monster in the middle at DT and Phillip Thomas in the 4th and what holes do we have on defence again?

Jones would not get by Pittsburgh. I'm borderline on trading a 3rd to move up to get him but wouldn't freak because of it. He is a special talent.

2nd round take your RT or guard. FA sign Clabo, Winston or Moore at whatever position didn't get filled in the draft.

5th round take Chris Faulk or what RB you like.

We should not shy away from Star or Jones.

He played in a 34 at Georgia, sat out the combine, struggled at his pro day, ran a 4.9 40 and...has spinal stenosis.

Yes to the 3-4 but lately I'm reading teams are projecting him at 4-3 LB. mistyped 4-3 OLB.

Everyone knows he times slow and the injury concerns are whats really stopping him from being a sure fire top 10 pick.

The spinal stenosis was originally diagnosed by USC doctors and he's played and had great seasons after it. That's not today's diagnosis. Furthermore, Jones has been very durable and hasn't really missed practice/games.

His work ethic and 40 speed are his knock. Thus why he may be we're we draft.

Look at the production and game tape and tell me how slow and injury prone he is.

Once again, everyone knows he doesn't test well in the 40 and he needs a better training work ethic. Eberflus and Woichik can/ get paid to fix that.

Typing on phone, pls bare with typos.

None of those guys are worth trading up for. I'd rather sit at 18 and take one (not Vacarro) that drops. Hell, I'd already be on the phone trying to trade DOWN if that's who is left after 13 picks.
