The thing about you Yanks, and particularly you blokes in the Southern colonies, is that you are known for your barbecue, ribs and other provincial specialties. Me? I am turning my back on Mother England's buffet of pot roast, blackbird pie and blood sausages for US delicacies. It will be game day! Holy Sunday!

I am going southern/southwest for Sunday's game. Got to get those calories to get me through the mangling of the GiANTS defence, blokes. Harold Hicks, accountant for the city (this is a city?) Of Farmers Branch says to keep it simple, savory, spicy and American/Tehano.

Behold my training table for Sunday:
Brisket sandwiches
Quesadillas
Chips and Clint's salsa (Oh, I am bad to the bone!)
Ice cold watermelon, cubed or course (one must maintain a refined front)
Ice tea
Guinness (yes lads, very cold. Colder than the looks I get at Neiman Marcus.)
That is it, blokes. Simple but good, yes?

Offer a better menu than this and you are obviously ordering catered. And well nourished.
What meager spreads will you workaday louts have?;)

Hello good friend. Fortunately for you sir, I suffer from sporadic insomnia and was able to catch this thread to save your spread from a faux pas should you exclude a secret tejana necessity. First and foremost, you will need a charcoal burning grill (gas grills is a contradiction of purpose in my not very humble opinion). Second, a Texmex market within driving distance (should be something within 30 minutes of Farmers Branch; Irving for certain). Third, the ability to pronounce Tablitas (Tah-blee-tahs / go premarinated; I know it takes some of the fun out of grilling, but as the American axiom dictates, if it ain't broke don't fix it). I'd go with no less than 5 pounds (not the money, the American metric system measurement for weight). Grill direct heat for two minutes on each side two times (that is, each side gets direct heat twice). Then stack them off to the side, frequently flipping the stack for an additional 5 minutes and it should be your new meat addiction (the used to be living in a cow kind).

Tried it yet?

No.

K

How about now?

Yeah.

I know, right?

Your welcome.

(Insomnia causes delirium. Consider that your better-late-than-never disclaimer)

You so disappoint about the sunflower seeds....
Sigh.

I sense a fanbase that is focusing on the game, not the periphery, stout lads of the gridiron tundra region, lads.
This game will be draining. In one way or the other.
But be advised: BE WELL NOURISHED FOR THE GAME! Before or after!!!

I guess potato salad is a thing of the past. No one mentions that quaint American dish anymore.

Roll out the chips and queso and a bakers dozen of tiger peel and eat shrimp for the noon game. About 2:30 the bloody ribeyes will be done with fully decked out Frangelica potatoes. Any alcohol consumption at this point may totally negate the salad, but it's optional anyway.

The menu varies throughout the rest of the season.

Does that work with regular potatoes or need sweet ones?

Oh and @GimmeTheBall! I just had some deviled egg potato salad this evening with beer brats and chips (the American kind. Deep fried and sold in a bag).
