A lot of threads have us choosing at least 2 OL in this years draft. I'm not opposed to that if that's what the coaches/scouts fill will best help this team. Looking at the roster I don't know that I see 2 OL being drafted based on comments that Wade and the gang have made.

Adams - not going anywhere for at least a year.
Kosier - not going anywhere for at least a year.
Gurode - ditto
Davis - ditto
Columbo - ditto

starting 5 remain the same for next year

Back-ups:

Free - showed he can play RT in this league, I think he can play LT as well
Holland - needs to go, hasn't shown enough to warrant a contract extenstion
Proctor - should have been awhile a go
Preston - has been a starter in this league, I would like to keep
McQuisten - needs to go, has had enough time in practice to show something

Practice Squad/PUP:

Brewster - coaches like, so he sticks for a couple of years
Bright - coaches like, I can see him replacing Holland on the roster

So I see Holland, Proctor, McQuisten gone for sure. With Brewster and Bright replacing them. So unless we also send Preston packing, I only see us drafting 1 OL.

I think they see Free at the LT of the future and Brewster as the RT, that may be why they are so high on the kid from Idaho, a replacement for Kosier in 2011.

Proctor might stay, if his contract is not too expensive. He could be alright for spot duty. Brewster going down early might have helped him physically, I dont think he was ready to help out last year anyway. I don't think he was in shape to play.

One of the concerns about Brewster coming out was that he needed to get stronger. I suspect that he has done a lot of leg work and hopefully will get enough time in the offseason to get his upper body where he needs it to be.

heres a name Pat McQuinstan, will be on the roster this year? Free earned his way to eitehr start or the first one to do either side. I do want to see what Brewster can bring to the table, but i want to make sure instead of opinion and I want another guy brought in either first or second round. I want to start pushing the starters and I want this line big and beefy again.

The Cowboys clearly preferred Proctor over Preston as whenever the need for an extra roster space emerged they would release Preston.

I think Proctor sticks unless we draft a G/C to backup Gurode who can beat him off the roster. I actually view this possibility as quite likely.

I don't know about Colombo this offseason. He is clearly in a fight for the RT spot with Free so long as Flo comes back. My guess is if Flo shows he is okay and Brewster shows that he is ready to play RT if needed Colombo can then be traded or released so another young Tackle can be kept on the roster.

The only thing keeping McQuistan and Proctor around is that they play ST's. These guys are lighter on their feet and can move better than our big bruisers. Either way I hope we upgrade these turkeys...

The Cowboys need to move forward under the assumption that the guys they don't know about can't play. Sorry, but we don't have time to wait on Brewster, Bright or anyone else. Our offensive line is crumbling right now.

Ditto. You have to have a backup C on the team. This is the reason I want to draft a backup center preferably G/C this year. Proctor is serviceable albeit marginally.
