All I ask is watch them and judge for yourself. Personally I felt better after doing so. He just wasn't on my radar because I did not think we were targeting power players like this guy is.

I was wondering if anyone had a chance to watch any of these videos and comment on them. I am curious to see what people think if they, like me, had not seen anything about him before.

I watched the Purdue game already. I love the play at 1:54. Makes a block, moves to the second level far and keeps the block, then turns once the ballcarrier gets close and makes a nice block to end the play.

He actually pulls and gets out on screens better than I was thinking he would.

Also like him seal off block at 3:24 of the purdue game. That block is the difference in a 4 yard run and a 20 yard run. He does it quite a bit on film.

After the TE pick, I'm not more happy with this pick.

At least we get 1 OL.

i saw much of the same thing. I get the impression that a lot of the sourness that he gets is from that Stanford game. He wasn't that bad and the rest of the line was worse but it was definitely not good.

I don't know about that but the comparisons to Andre Gurode have merit. We haven't had a guy with this type of power since Gurode retired.

Gurode was a good player up until his last year in Dallas IIRC.

Here's the videos I know about so far put into a playlist. It's 14 videos, not 18. Playlists are bugged for some reason, every 4th video doesn't load. It used to be in order too (draft stuff -> 2012 season -> 2011 season, -> interviews), but figuring out the playlist screwed it up.

That may be the fact that you can't really measure "football player" at the combine. Emmitt Smith is the kind of guy that you can think of like that. Never had more than average speed, yet he just kept scoring long TDs.

Some "workout warriors" will eventually live up to their measurables, others will not. Lots of quality football players don't measure out well at the combine and still have solid to great careers.

If we're honestly talking about a 10 year starter who goes to a couple pro bowls, that to me is absolutely worth the #31 pick. Especially if Williams lives up to his potential as well.

I have a love/hate relationship with this pick. The kid is a huge and strong which I obviously love, he's just so unathletic though, his feet are not that good. He should be a huge step up from what's on the roster, I wish he was our second round pick and not our first.

We were desperate for OL, and he was an obvious reach. I really, really want to like this pick, but I'm a little worried.

I watched alot of those videos and he does seem like he could be an all-pro. He has power, seems to hold up his guy, and pushes guys out of the way of the play.

He has played both guard and center with Wisconsin, but in my opinion only based on what I saw, he would be better served as a center. That is not a bad thing.

Now I really like this pick.

I saw a lot of good plays, but some offsetting bad ones too. He seemed to struggle at times with his footwork.

Interesting during that 2011 interview that he said he wasn't really planning on the NFL, just wanted to graduate and get a job. I'd like to see what pushed him toward it, maybe he was better than he thought or coaches made him aware of him being a prospect. He kinda said the same thing about being in high school, not considering college ball till 10th grade.

He does sound like a pro already, he carries himself well and definitely speaks with intelligence. He's a nice guy to have on the team, I hope he turns into a great player for us.

Thanks for posting these Fuzzy. I just watched a few of them. I agree that Stanford wasn't his best game, he had a couple of negative plays in the second half, but you're right that he was the least of the problems for their line in that game. Kawaan Short did nothing against him when they went head to head in the Purdue game. Jordan Hill gave him some problems a few times in the Penn State game. I thought he looked really good at LG in the 2011 game.

Overall, he got out and moved on screens and to the second level better than I'd thought he would given the slow/unathletic rap on him. He was very sound in pass protection, he anchored very well and I never saw him get pushed back in the pocket. In the run game, he either drove his man back or turned him pretty consistently. They ran up the middle behind him consistently and effectively.

I'd love to see him at center. But if they put him at guard, I could see them putting him at LG between Tyron and Costa. That'd be a pretty powerful left side to run behind.
