Trent Dilfer is on ESPN Radio right now, but I wasn't able to get the entire interview.

He basically stated that the Cowboys are the best team in the tournament.

He believes that the Vikings Offensive Tackles vs the Cowboys outside linebackers is a complete mismatch.

He flat out said that this game isn't going to be as close as most people think.

He's certainly looked smart recently...He liked the Cowboys long before they got going...interesting POV, but I don't want to get my hopes up too high

I have to disagree with Trent Dilfer.

I think this game is going to be decided late in the 4th Quarter.

Also, I wonder what type of effect the constant bashing of the Vikings' Tackles have on their mental state?

True, but he did predict that we would go 4-0 in December.

So yes, he has looked very smart but he has been wrong.

Let's just hope he is right this time  .

He's been consistent on that all week. He's definitely on us big time right now.

Even when we lost those first two though, he was still saying we'd make the playoffs and believed we'd beat New Orleans. Alot of people (me included) thought we were toast. But he said he really believd the two losses we had were "different" than some of the games in previous years in December.

He also made a point about how favre is at his best when he has options to throw to. That favre likes having 5 guys go out on routes but if we get pressure and the hb/te have to stay and block, it reduces favre's options. Also stated that favre will throw some ints if we pressure him into it.

Not too familiar with Phil Loadholt's mindset, but McKinnie has never struck me as a mentally-strong or highly-motivated player but more one who has gotten to where he has due simply to his athletic ability alone.

Yeah, he's been one of the Cowboys' most ardent supporters this season.

My mindset is basically that I'm so happy with the season that both I and the Cowboys "can't lose" at this point.

Even if they happen to lose, it's still been such a great season and the future looks bright as well.

Their minds can be able but physical mismatches are difficult to overcome. If the ref don't let them hold every play, Ware and Spencer are going to destroy their tackles.

A very big 'if'.

Not sure.

Michael Irvin always talks about how 99% of the game is played from the neck up.

Being constantly told that you are a bum, washed up and have no chance could motivate some of these guys.

hahaha....that's a big if considering the way the refs have called cowboys games all season. I swear I must see a hold on practically every play

If we end up winning it all Dilfer is going to look like a genius in comparison to every other analyst.

From a skill position the neck up matters most. However, in the pit, you can do the right thing and be in the right place but physicality will determine the outcome.

Very true. The refs haven't been kind to our pass rush but I am hoping with a better crew for the playoffs, they would call a good clean game for both sides of the ball.

And be fired from ESPN immediately thereafter.

Probably. ESPN is probably licking their chops to make room for guru's like Marshall Faulk and Rod Woodson.

Actually, I've heard that those two brilliant prognosticators are going into the lucrative world of sports betting and using their 'keen insights' to pick NFL games full time.
