Trick Plays This Weekend?

I think we may see some trick plays this weekend. I wanted to hear your thoughts.

Parcells really hasn't thrown many wrinkles into the games this year, but we've seen them in the past and we know they are in the playbook. I would not be surprised to see us dust off a few and thrown them into the game early.

If we did, what trick plays do you see us likely to use? With the Colts running defense, I can see a fleaflicker having the potential to produce 6 quick points. I do not know about the Colts special teams play.

At any rate, do you think this is something we'll see and if so, what plays do you predict?

Crayton end around throws a td pass to T.O. ALAH RANDEL -EL. I also would like to see them execute the HB screen. I think if executed well JJ could break it long. Although in the past they just don't seem to be able to pull it off.

Last year vs. KC we ran one that TG took to the end zone, albeit was only about a 5 yard TD run. It was the play where Larry Allen was out in front of TG picking his nose while TG faked out several Chiefs.

Glenn ran for 22 yards against the Titans this year and had a 47 yard run against the Commanders in 2003 near the end of that game.

you need to be physical on both sides of the ball, avoid turnovers and pressure Manning...do those things and we'll win...dont do them and we'll probably lose

I agree. Trick plays are only needed to disguise weaknesses within the offense.

The only thing that's stopped the Cowboys offense this year have been Bledsoe and penalties.

I said earlier that we'll see some reverses to Glenn but that's merely to keep him involved in the offense.

Trick plays are not always just about hiding a weakness.

It can also be about swinging the momentum into your favor if it pans out.

Two things about the steelers going from first to almost worse.

They lost the Bus and they lost ARE.

Now the Bus was much more important to them, but many times in the past they were in sort of a funk and they would call a trick play with ARE and turn it around.

Not saying that has to be the case everytime, but to say it is only to hide a weakness is not always the case.

Sometimes it can just be a momentum changer.

I would like to see a fake punt on 4th and short if the opportunity came up. I have watched for it all season and have seen a few times where I thought it would have worked.

I would not be suprised to see a trick but I'm more interested in seeing the offense running smoothly

Put me down for a flea flicker. If it happens, iot'll be after a steady dose of Jones/Barber. Colts defense will get lulled into trying to stop our run, and suffer a quick strike for a score...a figurative kick to the huevos. At least that's how I could see it playing out. I really hope the Colts get a nice dose of Barber. Beating up that smallish Dline would open up ALOT of possibilities. The key will be consistent play. Doesn't have to be a shut out, but our D has to play well in the secondary to win.

I think your example of the Steelers last year proves rather than disproves my point. The weaknesses that we see this year were partially disguised by the trick play last year.

I agree that a trick play can change the momentum, but offenses as good as Dallas' don't have to change momentum that way. Penalties and dropped passes have been the only thing to kill momentum since the turnover machine hit the pine. Trick plays aren't going to make the officials stop calling bogus penalties or make receivers catch the ball better.

There's no need to resort to trickery when you can line up and ram it down the opponent's throat.
