that Troy said the Cowboys before today's game..

were the third least penalized team in the league.

That was an eye opener to me.

We have constantly lead the NFL with penalties and killed more drives and extended more drives for other teams before this season.

What a positive impact that is doing for us now.

Sadly I think Romo contributes a lot of false starts. No Romo and you get fewer penalties. I think running the clock down before the snap has something to do with it.

Tell that to everyone who played with Peyton.

It's early yet but smart play might well prove to be a sound way to enter a new era.

Could it also be that good morale serves to breed positive results? We'll soon see.

It must be something the coaches emphasized since the early preseason games. They were getting penalties almost every snap then.

Is there any way we can spin this into not giving Jason Garrett any credit? I'd feel more comfortable with this.

I feel the penalties against cowboys have been down a few years now compared to how bad it has gotten.

You know Mara and Co will have the NFL review Chas Greens "before snap jump" with the officials. I hope we're not in for a surprise if the officials decide to make an example out of him.

It's not surprising, given the number of long drives the team has had (they lead the league in drives consisting of 10+ plays and drives of 5:00 or longer). In general, you can expect highly penalized teams to be less adept at stringing together 10+ play drives since, well, penalties are drive killers.

You can bet the officials are on notice now that Aikman/Buck have made such a big deal about it. We'll see if it's applied across the league and not just Dallas.
