Here is my favorite line...........

The Chicago Bears are ready to win the Super Bowl. They might have won it last year except for a glaring weakness at quarterback. Before the ever-popular "window" closes, the Bears need a quality QB to kick them over the hump.

:lmao2: Be careful what you ask for Chicago.

Only a Bears fan could've wrote that. Or maybe a very disillusioned Kolb/Eagles fan...

Laugh all you want, but If the Bears would have had even half the QB that McNabb is, they would have had a PHENOMENAL season (possibly keeping Peyton from getting his 1st Super Bowl ring).

I hate McNabb as much as anyone here, but the fact of the matter is, the reason I hate him is because he has OWNED us for the majority of his career. The guy has talent and we would have taken him 100 times over the QBs we've shuffled in and out of here over the course of his career in Philly. Homerism can be blinding.

So can this........

Can't argue that a bit bro, but I would have traded our last 7 years for their last seven years in a heartbeat, and that ALL had to do with McNabb (since you failed to address the original arguement. But you DID come up with a whitty little smiley post. ). Hate all you want (as I stated, I hate the bastage too) but, the fact remains, he's been the best QB in this division for the better part of the last 7 seasons. To deny it is ridiculous.

Trade him for Briggs. I would gladly let the Eagles turn to Kelly Holcomb or Kolb instead of McNabb.

IMO, McNabb has enjoyed success over us because his teams have been more talented than ours--in spite of him. Some of his biggest plays against us have come after we allowed his mobility to escape our defensive pressure and give him time to find his weak receivers. I still remember a few seasons back when McNabb literally ran all over the field, giving Pinkston time to get deep, and he simply chunked it to him for the score.

He capitalized on a busted play simply because we couldn't sack him. Well those days are nearing an end with the addition of Wade's defensive philosophy and more weapons upfront like Spencer. I hope McNabb is healthy for both our divisional games. Let's see how well he picks us apart with guys in his face!

Agreed. I'll pee my pants if Spencer buries his rear.

I think McNabb would love to go back to Chicago really... I think it would be a wise move on Chicago's behalf.

Maybe a McNabb for Briggs trade??

I agree to an extent. He pulled the same kind of plays off against a strong Giants defensive team and a Skins D that wasn't exactly at the bottom of the league (at the time). I'm no McNabb fan (by ANY means), but the fact that he was successful with a bunch of scrubs at virtually EVERY skill position on the offense (sans Westbrook), and STILL owned evry team in the NFC East is a tribute to the fact that the guy can/could (considering his iffy status in recovering from the ACL tear) ball.

By the way, that "busted" play that everyone seems to remember is just a small glimpse into what he actually did to the entire division for the majority of his career. He didn't make a living on that ONE play. He dominated the division with MANY plays like that. That play wasn't the exception, it was the rule with McNabb. Which is why I find it so easy to hate the guy.

I really think we're making McNabb into a much better quarterback than he actually is. He's a good quarterback running West Coast Offense. He's no Joe Montana. Heck, he's no Steve Young, either. I'm not too concerned about his continued status as the "best quarterback in the NFC East" or his domination over the Giants or Commanders. My main concern is the improvement of our defense to the point that it diminishes McNabb's ability to run the WCO effectively when we play Philadelphia.

reported as rumor on foxsports radio this morning.

Thanks for the update, but it would certainly make sense for the Bears to make the trade because Grossman is not the answer...

I won't argue that. And, I agree that I'm more concerned with what WE can do against McNabb. You're right. The guy is no Montana or Young. But, I know one thing, I would NEVER want to see this guy paired with a Jerry Rice or a Roger Craig or any of the other skilled position players that Young/Montana had the luxury of (not to mention the solid O-lines that those 9ers teams had). I don't think McNabb is infalible (by ANY means), but the fact that the guy has achieved what he has achieved with the supporting cast that he's had (T.O. being the ONLY real recieving threat he's had his entire career) is a pretty strong statement to the guy's skills. My original post wasn't an attempt to deify McNabb, but rather address homer-driven ridiculousness. I'm a Cowboys fan to my very core, but it doesn't stop me from being a football fan/observant overall. And, anyone who doesn't think that McNabb is an upgrade over Grossman doesn't have a football clue in his body. That was my point (originally).

McSlob might have superior skills, however, he is a mentally weak midget. It does not matter how great you are, if you cannot handle pressure (and it's been shown time and time again with him, ie., the T.O. drama and upchucking on the football field, losing the SuperBowl because of the pressure) then you are not as good as you think.

Give me someone with less talent but more brain power anyday. You take McPuke (and his mommy and daddy)...I'll take the other guy.

So that is what it's called when someone finds it funny that Chicago might trade for McFlubb because they think he might push them over the hump. The same hump he never pushed Filthy over. Gotcha.

The birds have concentrated so much effort into building the O line and the D line, and then the secondary, that they neglected WRs and TE and LB. Better play there would have gotten them over the hump - not McFlabb.
Bottom line is that they got to one SB, and McFlabb puked then choked.
Before that he choked in 2 champ games.
