Truthfully, what is your comfort level with our new QB?

From another board. Tony has played great football to this point but where is IYO your comfort level with him?

1. 100% our starting QB and should be given a big contract.

2. He has played well to this point but i'm not sold yet.

3. He is in a good system for him but is not special.

4. Other?

1, but why would be give him a big contract when we already have him cheap the next few years?

You don't have him for a few years. his contract was reworked and part of that was this year and if he reaches 65% playing time it's a 1 mill bonous. Next year is all that is left and i'm not sure he will be happy if it's not reworked or there will be about 20 other teams that will!

He's played very well the past three games, but I have high expectations for a Dallas QB. If he leads us far into the playoffs then I will be sold. If he wins a SB, then I'll be giddy beyond belief.

Seems a little too good to be true. I would love for him to be the next Tom Brady, but I've watched so many quarterbacks fizzle that now I'm guarding my expectations cautiously. And even if he puts together a solid season this year, what if he's just Chad Pennington, circa 2002?

I'm rooting hard for him and hoping he really is something special, but I'm still in the "it'll be fun to see what kind of QB he becomes" phase.

If he closes Jessica Simpson, then I'm convinced.

Anyone that can closes her (and that scrumcious body of hers) had a very nice and new contract.

Hell, for even one night

I'm at 1

I never thought I would be at this point, this soon, but here I am

why I'm so comfortable? because Romo prepares so well, and knows where he's going w/ the football, that shows me that he has 'it'

I know there will be bumps in the road, and his 1st could come this Sunday, but that's expected, he's young, to term Parcells, he's 'relatively inexperienced', but it's how I watch him play, and read the reports about him, that make me comfortable, and it doesn't hurt that he's very grounded

Very comfortable. No need to rush on the big contract. That's guaranteed to happen provided he proves he can play consistantly well over a longer period of time. Sure he's going to have the occaisional bad game, but as far as I'm concerned, he's already proven (to me at least) that he can play with the big boys. IMHO, he's only going to get better as time goes on.

If he keeps playing at or even near the level he's playing now, he'll have that big contract by mid season next year.

The people who pooh poohed the idea of a UDFA ever becoming the starting quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys will have to be dragged screaming and kicking to the realization that Romo is a far better quarterback than any they are likely to snag in the next ten years. And they are in the company of the owner, J. Jones . . . .

what's the rush to judgement? There's no need to make a decision on Romo until the season is done, period.

Romo has been a very pleasant surprise.

I'll admit...I was one of the skeptics about an UDFA becoming an NFL caliber QB

Realistically, as many have pointed out, he's only played in 3 full games...a little too early yet to put him in Canton...as BP would point out.

I guess it's a situation of JUST TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE...

Still...I would be elated to think that we have finally found our QB...

Of course there is a lot more Football to be played this season...hopefully a Playoff appearance and more are in the cards for T-Romo and the Boys.

It would be amazing if the Romo story played out similarly to Brady's in NE.

I'm DEFINITELY rooting for Romo...but for me the jury is still out. Let the boy get the rest of the season under his belt before we annoint him.

I think it's funny how everyone is saying "Yeah, Romo is playing well but let's see how he handles a game in which he has 3 int's".
Yo Einstien's!!!!!
He already has had that game.
The Giants game and you know what...he handled it pretty good.
I'm not ready to annoint Romo a great qb but I am cautiously optimistic about his future here in Dallas.
He has played great and this is the best qb overall we have had since Aikman. Easily!!!

They could play him for a cool million and then franchise him after next season if he isn't a one hit wonder. That would be the best thing, then he would get a great contract.

It doesn't matter. Give him his jack. If we continue to win, I'm sure JJ has no problem with shelling out another cool mil.

He is under CONTRACT next year also. Doesn't that mean anything to you guys? If another team wants him, I'm sure we would be ready to part with him and take two first round picks in his place.

This is a business first and foremost.

I have the same feeling about him that I had about Aikman in the middle of the 1990 season. We just might have something there.
