Trying to be optimistic if Dallas wins 2 of last 3 they finish 8-8-1

It's insane that we have fans still rooting against draft postion at this point.

Ya'll are more like Jerry than you think.

The only thing Dallas can accomplish by this is damaging their pick in 4 months.

What would be more optimistic would be us losing out and getting a better draft pick.

Winning 2 of 3 to finish 8-8-1 as some bizarre comparison to 7-10 last year is silly to me because there is zero gained by that improvement in record. What would be a "gain" for us would be getting the best draft position possible.

You assume the people picking will do the smart thing and get the better pick . Too many instances where that hasn’t played out . Yeah 8-8-1 does seem better then the 10 losses posted last season. Although with Prescott playing all these games this year to finish with 8 wins is an indictment on the entire franchise top to bottom

Look if you’re saying a change at ownership and GM is needed sure but that’s a pipe dream . Stephen takes over soon it’s a family business like the Corleones were in the Olive Oil bidness , Genco was the name as I recall . I live in reality the Jones family ain’t leaving Dodge City
I'm not saying that as he is on record saying they are never selling the cowboys. I'm just saying, I'm here for football, I stopped caring a long time ago if the cowboys win or lose and they are just another team I watch out of interest.

I think I get more entertainment watching the cyclical nature of this forum rinse and repeat every year with the same type of hope and Dory the goldfish memory.

Other teams have this same cycle as well but the owners are actually trying to win a SB and not only grow their ego and franchise value.

From a historical standpoint, an 8-8-1 or 9-7-1 finish avoids consecutive losing seasons for the Cowboys since the three straight 5-11 years of 2000-02.

yeah....i am rooting for young guys to show promise and to get reps to help them be better for next year. If they started half their backups and happened to win a game because they played well and got great experience, i don't know that I would be upset.

However, playing starters, trying to win, when there is zero to play for silly - but its what they are going to do and say they are "committed to winning no matter what"....

What I dont want to see, are bad bad injuries at this point that make people unavailable in August - thats been something that has hurt us in the past few years. Just look at Micha, his 2026 is at least half shot, he wont be effective until November given the timing on the injury.

You know we’re a beat down fanbase when .500 is considered okay.
