Trying to be optimistic if Dallas wins 2 of last 3 they finish 8-8-1 . MM left town 7-10 . You might call a .500 record something to work with next season . The defense to me is root of at least 75 % of the problems . You split with Philly this division is not far off .

The mission obviously is an upgrade of talent on D ( use both # 1’s ) and for goodness sakes get a new defensive staff the entire D staff going into Oxnard next July . Winning 2 of 3 is not a tall order . I refuse to jump off the ledge have to look for some positives . I know others want to to take a match to the whole thing .

Playing badly leading to losses after this season is lost most definitely helps the team in the draft pecking order. The higher we draft, the better the chance to pick up a better player in each round. It's not hard to understand that.

I'm not saying that as he is on record saying they are never selling the cowboys. I'm just saying, I'm here for football, I stopped caring a long time ago if the cowboys win or lose and they are just another team I watch out of interest.

I think I get more entertainment watching the cyclical nature of this forum rinse and repeat every year with the same type of hope and Dory the goldfish memory.

Other teams have this same cycle as well but the owners are actually trying to win a SB and not only grow their ego and franchise value.

we know this, but we are die hards, not fair weather fans. So let us be who we are and you can be who you want to be. Don't get me wrong though , i criticize the crap out of JJ and this franchise, but of course I always want to see them do well and work towards a SB, as I am a fan of THIS team.

I know it’s better to have a better draft slot, but I cannot watch a Cowboys football game and not want them to play well and win. Any hope of the playoffs is gone, but if you are a fan who actually watches the game and wants the Cowboys to lose every game and thinks it’s stupid to even try, please refrain from posting and telling the rest of us how stupid we are and how dumb the team is. We all understand how the draft slotting works. Some of us simply put pride and love of the game above draft position.

Tanking makes no sense to me unless you want the first or second pick of the draft for a QB. There are plenty of good defensive players throughout the draft. I want the best draft pick, but I just cannot hope and root for a loss. Maybe this is a win-win time as a Cowboys fan. I’m happy if the team and individuals play better and win games, but after another loss, I can console myself with the improved draft position.

Look, I know it's nice to be optimistic but I think several of you on this board keep missing the point year after year after 30 years. There are systematic problems from the top down that continue to derail this team and until it's fixed from the top down we will not see a championship game let alone a super bowl.

Every year it's a lot of hope, cheer, distraction, salesmanship, and that blue big blue star. It seems to work as half of this board buys in every single year all the way up to being six and six and one and still thinking there's hope.

Beats walking around with a stick up your butt and crying, complaining and repeatedly pointing fingers and saying that the team, that you follow and support, spend your time talking about, sucks....like the other half of the board does. We're all here for different reasons, allowing Jerry to make you miserable and actually rooting for losing, is what some want, others don't. Pick your poison, the record won't change no matter how positive or negative we are. The only thing we control is choosing to remain a fan, or not.
