Does anyone know whether we will get any draft compensation for the loss of Tucker?

The Cowboys won't get anything since he was an undrafted free agent.

Maybe we can give, who was it...Tampa Bay? a case of beer and a bag of salty pretzels for giving him a contract. I think they would enjoy that during the draft...I would.

Only compensation is we don't have to watch him getting his tail kicked at the line of scrimmage any longer. As far as I was concerned last year was a put up or shut up year for Tucker and he failed miserably

Dose anyone else think this system is flawed...
I know Tucker is not that good but he did start around 25 games the last 2 years and that should be worth something..
A player like Clarett was a 3rd rounder but he is not worth a 3rd round pick and I realize Clarett and Tucker are not the best examples but a player not drafted could be a lot more productive than a draft pick so why shouldnt this go by production rather than speculated production.

You know whats even more amazing is how the media is saying how much TB upgraded their O line when they signed Tucker. He got the "Experienced Starter" label and that improves the line. Kosier must really be terrible because he is getting no love from anyone and he has more starts than Tucker.

Actually everything I've read is just the opposite. Prisco said: "What the heck were they thinking?" and I believe Lenny Ps tipsheet said the move was a headscratcher. If they're applying "experience starter" to the move, then it has to be because the beat writers are doing some spin to the fans.

Sorry if I missed this I've been away for a while. I know the Bucs signed him and we didn't match their offer what I don't know is did we receive any kinda compensation from the bucs considering he was a RFA?

We wouldn't until 2007 either way, but he was undrafted, so it's doubtful we would anyway.

If he was undrafted then we wouldn't and any comp would come in the form of "gift picks". I actually didn't know we didn't draft him. I know KD was undrafted and we wouldn't receive any comp from NO if we don't match their offer.

All these questions arise about compensation ...

Let's start from the top:

1. NO COMPENSATION if the guy was an undrafted rookie FA.

2. NO COMPENSATION if he was drafted in the first round by ANOTHER TEAM.

3. NO COMPENSATION if we cut a first rounder.

4. NO COMPENSATION if we lose a first rounder who's playing in his 3rd contract.

... so NO COMPENSATION for Tucker or Davis. Nor are we getting first round compensation for losing Vinny T. No compensation for losing Eddie George. No first round compensation for losing Ryan Leaf.

I wonder about you guys sometimes ...

Do RFA's count towards the formula when the NFL decides who gets compensatory picks? Or is it just losing UFA's? Not specific to Tucker or Davis.
