-- I wonder how the secondary is being coached differently now than they have the last several years under Zimmer. Think about it, it has to be better. I'm curious as to what Wade means when he says Reeves is using his speed better now, but it leads me to believe that these players are learning things now that they've never been taught before.
-- Does everyone remember that we haven't had all our weapons together on offense all preseason? Glenn has been out the whole time, but at least a couple other important players have been out, too: Flozell, Colombo, Hoyte, Fasano. Don't let the last couple practice games make you forget how improved Fasano looks.
-- I really feel that Wade liked what he saw during "Broncos Week" of practice and play against a pretty good, well-coached team, and pulled back a little from then on. IMO he seems pretty confident in his team, judging by his PC yesterday.
-- I think Glenn, Burnett, maybe Newman, and maybe even Ellis will play Sunday. Just a feeling... Although Nate Newton said he thinks Newman won't play. But I believe our thinking has been skewed a bit by four years of the way Parcells handled injuries. Wade is going to do his best to keep these guys ready for the actual games, and like other coaches do, maybe try to play a little poker with who might actually play. I keep thinking of Stroud and Peterson playing well against us last year when they were listed as doubtful, and Jax writers were saying just a couple of days before that there was no way they would be able to play in that game.
-- Patrick Crayton was on 103.3 last hour and he sounds extremely pumped up and ready to go. There doesn't seem to be a lot of trepidation and worrying from the players -- it's anticipation and excitement, all in a positive sense. BTW, he said Reeves and Jones have extremely high motors, even in practice.
-- If you find yourself worrying about our corners, just remember one thing: Demarcus Ware vs. David Diehl. The DPOY campaign starts Sunday in front of a national audience.
-- And if you favor offense, think of T.O. vs. the Giants corners. They aren't any good.
-- It's time to get pumped, fellas (and ladies). We haven't seen our real team yet. Sunday we will, and with a home Sunday night crowd behind us. I really believe there will be a lot more optimists here Monday morning than there are today.
