Turning point of the game: The reverse to Glenn.

This was the most foolish playcall of the afternoon. We are moving the ball effectively and are on the edge of at least a field goal attempt, when we call a play that can cost big yardage if not executed properly, and that's exactly what happened. This was the swing play of the game, that took the offense out of the rhythm it had established all day long. It took two more drives to finally get it back.

TO needs to make that catch. He catches that ball and its ball game. Very much mirrored the Keyshawn drop from last week @ Carolina.

The blocked field goal is a totally different animal. They happen, but how? Everyone has to hold their block for ONE play no matter what. Then the poor 15yd penalty call, and bingo recipe for disaster. For the life of me I don't know how we can allow that play to happen.

Tony was phenomenal. He shows no signs of being a flash in the pan. That said, I need to remove the lump from my throat. The closing sequence is indicative of our entire season thus far. We need to rebound if we have any chance at salvaging the season. Wow.:(

What do you mean foolish call? If Guode had blocked his man, Glenn would have gained a lot of yards, if not scored.... The whole left side was open...

it was a HORRIBLE play call at a HORRIBLE time.
We were gladly and easily moving the ball right down the field and on the fringe of FG range. You don't call a cutesy play like that which has the potential to push you backwards.

The other bad playcall was the 3rd and 1 that they stopped. It was past time to fake that and go playaction. Everyone knew where the ball was going. It was only a matter of time before they stopped it. They did, and it cost us points. We were almost on the fringe of FG range again.

What do I mean? It's too risky at that yard marker to run a reverse to the weak side of the field. If the play is blown up, which it was, it puts you back on your side of the field unecessarily. A three yard gouge by Jones or Barber puts you in field goal range at that point. Try the reverse at shorter yardage or in the redzone if you want. Not there.

Didn't TO make his second drop on the next play, or was it a sack?

I agree only because they have failed miserably with the reverse in previous games. That being said, Gurode gets the blame big time on that play. And it was indeed a major turning point among many.

Are you kidding me? It was a GREAT call. Gurode made a p*ssy attempt at a block.

Ditto. The only reason it was a bad play call is Gurode decided not to block.

i agree that call was horrible, we were easily moving the ball down the field against them but then we try to get too cute and they take advange and hold us for the rest of the series

If you watch the replay, there was 25 yards between Carter and the next Washington defender. If Gurode makes his black, Glenn would have had to make just one man miss and he probably would have scored. The entire defense bit on overoursued to the right.

It is a bad play if your team cannot execute the play - I have yet to see us run the play successfully this year.

It was a beautiful playcall at the perfect time. The players have to execute. God, some of you guys are absolute idiots.

Yeah I'm kidding you. Whatever. Total momentum killer, too high risk, too many times failed by NFL teams to play that percentage at that point in the game. We ran a zillion plays for positive yardage. Why throw a gimmick play in at that point? Can we get a lead first?

Unreal. The result proves my point correct no matter who may have or have not missed or made their block. We needed 3 more points to win. And we lost the opportunity to get them on that play on that drive. The 'Skins buckled down and played good D until the last drive ever after.

i agree. the reverse was a bad call. in that situation, we needed positive yards to set ourselves up for field goal position and we blew it. then after the reverse romo got sacked.

I'm not blaming the call when a simple block would have made that call look genius. Blame Gurode on that one.

It was a GREAT call...we just have mentally soft players...Gurode is a head case...we are going to have a dilemna when it comes time to decide what we are going to do with him...he has talent, but he is not nasty...this team is not nasty...I thought someone on Dallas should have gotteb a penalty when Albert Haynesworth ripped Gurode's facemask off and stepped on his face. This is the culture Parcells created when he said he wanted no thugs on this team. We have got the extreme opposite. We are not nasty. We do not punish people. We pick people up after we tackle them. I have seen Gurode block someone to the ground then pick him up. It drives me nuts
