In another thread I mentioned that all he does is get open. On his catches in the Chiefs game he had good separation from the defender. I have hopes that he can develop into a reliable receiver.

We are working in a lot of rookies and inexperienced guys on offense. Williams, Escobar, Hanna (only one year in), Frederick, Leary. That's a lot of newness but overall I think they are all growing and learning. Williams looked much better in week 2 in limited action. I could see him having a bit of a breakout this week vs the Rams maybe catch 4 or 5 passes and a TD

For those saying they hope he can be Laurent Robinson realize we have a very flawed view of Robinson. He had one good year in the NFL. We just happened to get it. If Terrence Williams is Laurent Robinson that is a failed draft pick.

That is silly. Romo and Robinson were a good match. That could have gone on for years.

Wes Welker was nobody. Then.....

That was a great catch.

Lets see how he rolls through the season. Would be nice if he turns into a Laurent Robinson for Tony.

Correction, that was a good catch. Lets not get ahead of ourselves after ONE play. I do like his potential though.

...And you know this how?

The guy has the same skill set as Robinson, works hard, smart and the team obviously likes him.

See no reason why he can't develop into that kind of weapon down the road.

they are very different players.

Can we just move on .........pitch ur agenda at the end of the year. He is just a rookie... lets focus on Cowboys winning some games and not pushing rookie agendas

The point is ultimately Robinson has basically had one good productive season as a professional and has bounced around the league in 6 years. If we're looking back 6 years from now describing TW in a similar light, that's a failure IMO.

To answer the OP, i believe TW will be a very good #2 WR hopefully as soon as next season.

Because he is the guy who labeled him as a bust and garbage after his first game.

http://cowboyszone.com/threads/terrence-williams-is-garbage.264961/

Agenda's defy all logic.

I never called him a 'bust'. In order to be a bust there have to expectations in place. What's this 'agenda' talk? Like I get paid or something if the kid fails. I've already stated that I hope I am wrong and he succeeds. So the only 'agenda' present here is the one that individuals (weakly) exercise in a discussion forum for the sole sake of trying to discredit someone else's opinion because theirs are worthless or they simply don't have one of any value.

I hope TWill turns out to be great.
So far, I 've seen very little though, but it is very early.

they are very different players.

Not even close to being similar players. Laurent Robinson ran 1.46 in his 10 yard dash. In the history of the Combine results, a time of 1.43 puts you in a group for the top 5 fastest. One of the reasons that Robinson worked well for Romo is that once the primary route failed, Robinson could explosively accelerate into a secondary route (or as Garrett likes to call it "staying alive") and was immediately open. Romo plays that kind of impulse game very well so he could see Robinson's separation immediately and get him the ball.

Combine Results

Combine Invite: Yes
Height: 6020
Weight: 199
40 Yrd Dash: 4.38
20 Yrd Dash: 2.50
10 Yrd Dash: 1.46225 Lb. Bench Reps: 19
Vertical Jump: 39
Broad Jump: 10'07"
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.28
3-Cone Drill: 6.83

Who knows what Williams will become as an NFL WR, but he is not starting with the same stuff that Robinson has.

The "He is just a rookie" response would be validated if not for the fact that we're putting him out there A LOT. The staff appears to have a lot of faith in him. I do see that he's not so bad at routes. He's got great speed. He just needs to keeps his eyes on the ball throughout the catching process.
