Regardless of who you want in the backfield this year, it seems to me that VR has taken notice that Murray wore down because, well, running the ball 400 times will do that to you.

I can envision a year where we have two backs each getting 15-20 carries a game in order to keep them fresh throughout the season. Their numbers won't scream Pro Bowl, they won't win you your fantasy league, but they'll be part of the best rushing attack in the league and will help us during the stretch run when we need it the most.

Lombardi or bust.

Unless we want to see gun slinging, Brett Favre like Tony Romo , with a bad back, running around out there, chucking the rock down field 40 times game.....

I am thinking this is the way to go. Platoon them...keep them fresh,
I keep hearing about the PS guy....Williams....

i am just trying to figure it out, but maybe they really do think they have something there..?

Or 3 RB's getting 15-10-10 touches with about 500-800 yds each.. The guys we have would break if they consistently got more than 15 touches every week. Randle might be the more durable of the three but not by much..

I'm looking to draft a power back.

At first I thought you were describing Philly's situation now with Murray/Mathews/Sproles.

But yeah, we're gonna have to use the RB by committee strategy. Even if we get Gurley or Gordon, no way we give them the ball nearly as much as we gave it to Murray. I hope we get a reliable veteran (key word being reliable... so not Richardson or McFadden) and pair him up with a stud rookie RB.

As much as I can be doom and gloom about Murray leaving. It does make sense. Keep the OLINE for years to come. And just get no-name backs and rookies, and run through them.

Garrett sucks at getting 2 backs involved in the offense.

He has no feel for how to swap them in and out.

Luckily Garrett isn't the OC anymore, and Linehan is very good at it
