Garrett must have invented a flex defense before he came to Dallas, like Tom Landry, because all I keep hearing about is how intelligent he is. It's not possible that he's running a simplified version of the Coryell, because he's so intelligent. I mean all the creative ways he's shown in getting the ball to his best players. I mean what to DBs know when they called out Garrett for simple routes that are easily defensible. Garrett is the genius. What does Patrick Crayton know when asking Garrett where the hell is the hot route when it comes to a blitz? Garrett is a genius. It's not like Crayton has any proof, because Garrett has shown, throughout his tenure, his brilliance in adjusting to even basic blitzes up the middle. Oh, wait a minute...

If i had know that a post would name Patrick Crayton and Garrett and Coryell today, well I could not be more suprised if I had baked a bar mitzsva cake for Marshall Thompson of "Daktari" fame.
You make some good point but I don't think you think Garrett is that smart.
I enjoy all your posts, khiladi man.

Yes the milktoasted approach can work. In kindergarden.

Yes it is about winning and winning we are not. I say gift me a coach with Garrett's brains and Jimma's volcano nature. Than we can talk, Mister All of the Sudden Resolute and Well Spoken!
I think your 5 minutes wif me half ended! goodbye!

So again it is what you like it is about you. Pete Carroll team won the SB I don't see any volcano approach in him. You want a sideline show I only care about them winning.

I agree we are probably headed for a losing season. The defense just seems to keep looking worse on paper and in the field. The only wild-card (pun intended) is just how lights out this offense can be. If we stay healhy there and reach potential we could hang a 30+ burger every game and hide the defense enough to get to 9-10 wins.

As for Garrett, meh. I never wanted him here and still don't.

Amen. The love affair with him is remarkable. I can only compare it to the Campo love affair, but worse. Campo had zero talent unlike this team the last few years. It would have been a cool story, backup QB from the glory days becomes head coach and leads the team back to glory! It just is not happening! I know .. I know he has a 10 year rebuilding plan even though most coaches have a 2-3 year plan..lol Hopefully our young lineman and Dez won't be retired by the time his plan starts showing more wins.

What are we in now with the Jason Garrett project and we went from Wade, to Paul Pasqualoni, to Rob Ryan, to Kiffen and now Marinelli from a 3-4 to a 4-3. And we are back to blaming the defense yet again, despite all this instability to give Jason Garrett all these excuses. What did you expect? The year that they finally get rid of this clown as OC, we are again going back to the excuses that it's the defenses fault, when Garrett isn't even calling plays anymore? You want to extend a guy for 5 yrs based on this track record...

Got to love the process as it relates to defense. All the excuses in the world for Garrett finally getting 8 years to implement a process, but blame the defense because they really don't look to hot right now.

Crazy. I am telling you, next year after Garrett gets a lifetime contract following the 4th 8-8 season, they will bring in Gruden, Billik and Cower to be "sideline consultants" and garret will be sitting in Jerry's suite wearing a toys 'r' us headset pretending he is calling in plays, just so Jerry doesn't have to admit he cannot coach.

Pete Carroll don't half to be nothing. He only half to half one of the best teams in recent mammory. So your logic again is like that of a sober Ricky Williams (and that is not good).
I dont want no sideline show but I do want fire in a coach when players return to the sidelines from a stinking performance. If you cannot accept that then again we are finished talking. (no, again, I am kidding you. You make mein days daily)

Garrett isn't doing anything other giving some lectures about being all one can be.

Again, when you half a team like Seattle, a volcanic aproach is the last you need. And clearly Carroll does not need it. He already half good players who perform at a very high skill level.

again that is how he always has been because that is who he is as a person. How you get your message across and players respond matters. Hollering and jumping up and down there are many coaches like that who have failed but it is who the coach is not an act. There is no one way as you seem to think.

If you think players would respond better to Garrett than to Jimma than you are living in planet Neptune.
Players who respond to fear will work their butts off for Jimma but not Jason. That is just the way it is.
And off course there is no one way. Where did I say that? I stated that in my mind a coach needs to instill fear and respect. Being all milktoasted never motivates, it only serves slackers.
For mein money, Jimma got his message across. In Jason's case, not so much.
If Jason want to stay that way, great. Just don't think it will be successful as proven by our endless 8-8 seasons. Milktoasted leadersship gift you mediocrity and not great teams.
Fear, just like the fear I strike in you,;) gets the job done.

Fear? Johnson could cut a player just as Jason can. Jimmy is not scaring people he is 5 foot nothing you think a 300 plus pound man is going to be scare or fearful? BS he is afraid to lose his job but you don't have to holler to cut a guy. You talk a lot of BS you really do not have a clue. Carroll did not inherit his roster he built it and did not have to act like a crazed man to get them to perform. Respect and fear or not the same things and player or people tend to respect truth not some idiot hollering, it is the message not how the message is delivered. I don't know if Garrett will or will not get this team over the hump. Bottom line is winning how a coach goes about it I don't care but the notion that they need a guy hollering, BS no you don't the fear is in failure the fear is in losing their job but none of these guys are fearful of old, tubby guys they could kick Johnsons *** any day of the week but the did respect him and they were aware that in failing to do the job could get you a one way ticket out of here. However did not seem to work for him with the Dolphins

Some posters just want the drama. They live for the drama, as if that is a good thing. Girls like drama.

There are more than one way to skin a cat...but if you skin the cat without drama, the cat is not skinned right!

Did that make sense? lol

Well, they did seem scared, but you would no better.

You talk a lot of BS you really do not have a clue.
But you have the keys to knowledge.

Carroll did not inherit his roster he built it and did not have to act like a crazed man to get them to perform.

Well, I was referring to his Super Bowl Team. Maybe you did knott get the memo.

people tend to respect truth not some idiot hollering

No, peoples respect and usually fear the hollering.

I don't know if Garrett will or will not get this team over the hump

Something you don't know??????

Warning: Cliche time follows:

Bottom line is winning how a coach goes about it I don't care but the notion that they need a guy hollering, BS no you don't the fear is in failure the fear is in losing their job but none of these guys are fearful of old, tubby guys they could kick Johnsons *** any day of the week but the(y) did respect him and they were aware that in failing to do the job could get you a one way ticket out of here.

Very observant. to use your cliche, bottom line, his style worked in Dallas and he was feared and respected. I cannot speak as to what happened in Miami, though you seem to be a know-it-all.

You like Garrett's style: Fine, fine, mighty fine.
Ah don't. You obviously half time to repeat yoself. Fine, fine, mighty fine.
Just dont be all high and mighty from your rehtorical hole you half dug.
Just know that if Jimma holler at me and ax me to do something I do it. If Jason ax me to do something I will think about it, after lunch, and maybe, just maybe will follow through. Or never will.

There it is. Read it, then slap yo forehead and say: "How could I half been so blinded by mein denseness. Gimme (as always) is correct and how will ah dig myself out of this rehtorical hole? Hep, Gimme!;)

LOL

IDK Vegas has Garrett as the odds on fav to get the ax first, he's off at 2:1 not good.

Jason, you need to start, poste haste, hollering and stomping and don't buy into Doomsday's advice about being mild and nice (but respected).

Yeah, Jason! Walk into Jerry's office and bicht slap him across his face! Get that new contract!

While you are at it? Go into the locker room and start throwing down all kinds of trash cans around the room yelling, "You bastids better listen to me or else! If I see any more injuries! From any players! I will not only cut you...but I will do it with a big kick in the ***! Now, listen up...I just slapped Jerry".

Hmmm...yeah, that's the ticket!

My World is ongoing, from Sun up, to Sunset. I have no idea what tomorrow will be like, and I sure as hell don't care what happened yesterday. See...I'm not one of them so called "realists" that think they know everything. Like a teenager, knows everything about absolutely nothing. The only thing that is real, is what I am doing right now.

Why I'm doing it is another question! (i need some fresh air)!!!!!

Got to love the process as it relates to defense. All the excuses in the world for Garrett finally getting 8 years to implement a process, but blame the defense because they really don't look to hot right now.

I hold Garrett responsible for the defense now. Linehan runs the offense. He wasn't the OC last year either. I don't divide the responsibility anymore. It's a young defense now. Crawford, Wilber, Holloman, Claiborne, Bishop, Dixon and Wilcox are all healthy young draft picks that need to get better. Coach them. Get guys rehabbing like Spencer, Gardner, and Lawrence getting back on the field faster. Keep the veterans healthy for September. All that is on him.

Bear in mind that some of us have not been complaining about the offense the last 8 years. It's you guys who have been constantly looking for reasons to discount offensive production who've been ignoring the defensive shortcomings the last several seasons. And yet pivot seamlessly as if it's nothing at all as the extent of the defensive shortcomings *finally* get the attention they've been deserving the last 3 seasons.

And, yes, Jason Garrett is the HC and is responsible for the defense as well as the offense.
