Does Jerry know about this?. Even he can't be that naive about commenting on Romo playing 4 more years.

What are you talking about? He is the one who keeps saying that Romo is going five more years.

This. How much could it really cost to move from 4 to, say, 2-3?

exactly. plus I'm not convinced that this team is as bad as their record this season. I think this is still a super bowl team with a healthy romo. if there's ever a time to reach- especially 3 spots up- it's in this draft.

I think that you need to read Troy's piece again. Past history has no relevance on Tony's current physical situation (primarily back) which appears to be chronic and vulnerable.

I'm not a doctor nor is Troy and anyone here who may be should know their diagnosis should be based on examination not some message board opinion. Based on what Romo is saying he feels confident that he will return and in shape to play. I can go by what the man himself is saying and what a 3rd party is saying. Meantime as I mentioned I'm all in favor of getting a QB in the draft and having them sit behind Romo as they learn and develop

He might have more quality seasons in him, he might not.

At this point really nobody can say. Recent history hasn't been kind to Romo, however, maybe it's bad luck.

I say plan on Romo being there for 2 more years AND take a QB in the 1st round.

That is how I feel as well.

I am as gung ho about drafting the future franchise QB, but I draw the line at trading up. Not yet. Now when we are in full scale panic mode after Romo retires, that might change.
I pray we don't trade up

Goff will be gone before 4 as Cleveland will most likely land him to get rid of their Manziel headache.

Like I said, I want one but I am not going to trade up from four.

Andrew Luck you trade up for, Jared Goff, whom I like, not so much.

If Dallas misses on him, there will be plenty other options in this draft as developmental types to choose from pick your favorite and get him or the next guy.

In the meantime, they should sign the best possible fa available.

Depends on how the scouting process works.

I find it tough right now to say Goff or Lynch are worth the cost to trade up to #2 (800 points on my archaic chart) or #1 (1200 points).
I think Wentz is a sleeper. Since we have a very early 2ND , I am hoping we go Treadwell in the first and Wentz in the second

He's a very intelligent QB who can read the defense, adjust plays at the LOS, makes good decisions, has thrown for 96 TDs vs 30 INTs in his career, and has done it against big time competition. He's broken most of Aaron Rodgers' school records as well. He makes plays buying time in the pocket and throws with consistent accuracy.

That's about it.

I don't know. Sounds like a bust.

Not quite as good as Kellen.....;)

The shot that Romo took in the back against NYG was just plain dirty.

This is why Romo will not last and should be treated on a weekly by weekly basis for availability. He gets constant cheap shots that are never flagged. Teams know that they won't get called as often if you hit Romo. They also know the Cowboys can't win without Romo, so you take Romo out, using these cheap shots. It is only a matter of when.

We need a QB right now. I agree..

But what is the point if we are just going to put the guy in a position to fail and waste FA money and a premium draft pick?

That is why fixing this broken middle school offensive scheme is imo by far the top priority and QB is secondary.

As far as Roster moves, yes, QB is #1 for me.

The offense is what needs to be fixed period. If watching Weeden has shown anything to those in charge of the offense is this, you need to have imagination, flexibility and put your players in positions to succeed.

Asking Moore to run this offense is plain unfair. But he could succeed in a Different offense.

So, no franchise QBs in the draft, you are positive of that. But sign one of two unreliable veterans who have already shown they can't or at the very least struggle to play at even a mediocre in this league and "develop" them.

RG III has taken his team to the playoffs but never really recovered from his knee injury, the year off has surely helped him in that regard. Johnny has shown flashes but can't get his head on straight. If Johnny behaved off the field there is no doubt he would be the starter.

But people on here know so much, and think Romo is still the savior

He's done for.

Thanks for your time Romo, you are now damaged goods, and are only hurting this team. Good Riddance

Funny .. I saw two moments this season that convinced me (not that I didn't think it already) that the Cowboys need to find Tony Romo's future replacement now ..

1) Week 2 when he broke the same collarbone he broke the last time ..

2) Week 10 when he broken the same collarbone he broke the last two times.

.. and I think many other people did too .. no hall of fame quarterback resume required.
