So, you want to boost one of the worst takeaway defenses in the history of the NFL with 4th round and later picks?

I understand what you're saying, but man our defense would be in bad shape next year unless we handed out some questionable contracts in FA.

You don't think that viable defensive linemen and secondary can be added in the middle of the draft? That, and with salary being diverted, the team can be strong builders also in free agency.

If Carr is released, a starter would have to be added up top, at cornerback.

Do I think we can upgrade the 5 spots on defense that are starting lower tier players with draft picks that have as much chance of panning out as a scratch off? Not really, no.

Our offense is much more talented than our defense, and there's only one ball. Give me a young QB and a talented back, and spend the rest of the resources building up our defense that is severely lacking talent at more than half the positions.

I'm sorry, but it is time to look at Romo as a year to year player. If the team honestly thinks he can be depended on 3 years from now, they need to re-evaluate their future projections. Peyton Manning was still elite 16 months ago. Half way through last season he fell off a cliff. I love Romo, but it's time to think about the future of the team while hoping he has a few more years left. I don't care about the collarbone. The back that was operated on over 2 years ago is still an issue weekly for him and if that doesn't scare the FO, what will?

I would say you need to look at Romo as part-time player. He could still be around for few years that way.

Tony is/was a much more gifted athlete that Aikman as well. Too bad Romo never played with the talent Troy did.

If running around like Fran Tarkington is more talented and gifted, then you are correct.

If the position of quarterback falls under things like accuracy and winning, then I might suggest you, like aso many, haven't the first clue about Aikman.

I'll allow Jimmy Johnson's words during the week of Aikman's retirement settle all this BS about Troy.

"He could have passed for Marino type numbers, but sacrificed his personal stats for the team concept."

Romo has had talent around him, and even as recently as 2014 and the season everyone holds up as what this team is instead of the debacle of 2015, he had talent surrounding him.
