Here is one of Tyler's predictions from TO's web site. I am not posting this because I hold his opinions/predictions to be the end all. I am posting this because I can not believe how stupid Danny boy can be. $30 Million and this guy has 7 TD's his ENTIRE career.... WOW!!!

Worst Free Agent Pickup: Antwaan Randle El, WR Washington

Like I mentioned in my previous piece, Randle El is getting paid nearly 1 million dollars per catch this based on his stats from last season. His contract is somewhere in the league of 30 million dollars, and last season he caught just 37 passes. In fact, he has never caught over 50 passes during his career. Do you want another baffling number? He has 7 touchdowns…not last season, but in his entire career. I mean, he’s a great return man, but paying him like a big time receiver when he has proven to be nothing more than a good #3 in his entire career is ludicrous. Moves like this is why Washington is in deep cap trouble almost every year.

I agree that paying El that much was stupid but I think Wash needed him or someone like him on their roster.

The above quote is the most baffling to me...we always talk about it but I've yet to really see the skins in "real" cap trouble. They've always found a way around it everytime all of us and the so-called experts are predicting gloom and doom for them. When they have to start forfeiting things or start getting penalized by the league for cap issues, then I'll believe they are in "deep cap trouble." (or an investigation into them "book-cooking.")
Yes, I know they have had to cut players every year because of cap issues, but I don't recall anyone of significance that they would've definitely kept if they had the money. We cut similar quality players every year and we don't have cap issues.

Would they have signed everyone they did this year if they did not know Lavar was on his way out and they where going to strong arm him into giving money back?

Lavar is a fairly significant loss.

In fairness, I'm sure the contract is completely backloaded. Unless Randel El really does pan out there is no way he will see all $30M of that deal.
