Tyron Smith for next season has a team cap hit of $14.025M with $8.865M in dead money (a savings of roughly $5.2M) in 2021.....so Dallas needs to start thinking of moving on from Tyron Smith as he has missed 3 games in each of the last 4 seasons and is already looking at missing 2 of the first 3 games of 2020.

If either Knight or Steele go down to injury ...who is the next man up ?

- And he's listed as an OG

becareful stating that as you will get flamed....some on here just ignore the fact he is a liability and not dependable at this point in his career and needs to be replaced by someone dependable.

And just bc it’s time to replace an aging vet doesn’t mean as fans we don’t appreciate him or what he’s done, its just clearly becoming time to move towards a younger less injury prone player

If knight ir steele develop into good tackles, replacing smith is not such a great priority. I'd put defense first. But after two games, no one knows what will transpire. RELAX........aaron Rodgers.

So freaking sick of him, can’t depend on him at all....time to move on....
Lol, he’s missed 3 games each of the past 4 seasons and played all but one of them before that. I’ll gladly give up 3 games a year for what he makes up for when he does play.

Plus Seattle’s defense sucks and their best edge rusher is out, shouldn’t be a problem this week.

Only if it leads to Tyron healing completely. Otherwise he should be out there if he can go.
Why? Romo was fully healed but never got his job back..if knight is playing good ball,he needs to stay out there.

TS 13 games each season over the last 3 seasons is better then 16 from Jags which hes not.. he misses less games then many other players around the league..check out rosters of late.. i do know Jerry sated if this were do or die games TS could have easily played last week and that means this week as well if they asked him too..it was a coaches decsions to hold him out. Make sure it doesnt reoccur or has set back..

but be done, given you are not what you have his jersey you want to burn, what exactly can you do to be done? of course we hear that a lot but doesnt mean you wont be called out on it, :muttley:
100% this

Just in our division alone we had Nate Solder steal 15.5 million a year from the Giants and then sit out this year. Trent Williams LITERALLY refused to play for Washington last year then demanded to be traded this offseason, and phillys starter Dillard got a season ending injury and the back-up REFUSED to play unless he got more money.........

Tyron isn't perfect but our fanbase is a bunch of babies about it. Cry me a river about how "where sick of him, he never plays".

This is what happens when you don't follow other teams, Tyron situation isn't perfect but majority of teams in the league have it WAY worst so spare me the whole "where sick of him, he never plays". Nobody will pitty us
So freaking sick of him, can’t depend on him at all....time to move on....
Sick of him ? At least he actually shows up unlike all the of the left tackles in our division......

Tyron is an amazing player on a good contract and we happen to be fortunate to have adequate back ups that aren't costing us yet.Why get rid of a very good player that misses 3 or so games a year when your fielding good back ups.
If a great tackle falls to us of course you take him. All teams are struggling.
Tyron is great,

The minute we move on is the minute he'll get healthy and a team like the Seahawks will reap the benefits. I say keep him even with the headache of his availability. His price tag isn't far off from Tyrone Crawford. Let that sink in.

People complain about Zeke well he is worth the measly 15 mil he gets compared to the albatross Tyrons 12 mil this year and 18 mil the last 5 years. The guy never finishes a season and refuse to have surgery on his back and now he is having knee issues. This guy is robbing Jerry! He should of been gone a few years ago.

Doubtful is Tyrons middle name
He has played exactly 13 games each of the past 4 seasons and he has never missed a playoff game.

It is not optimal but it has been far far from being in the Sean Lee category.

I don't know where you came up with the 18M number.

Tyron's contract averages 12.2M per year. That is the amount that he get paid and the amount on average of the cap hit.

Any years with a larger cap hit are because they took less than the 12.2M number as a cap hit in previous year for the purpose of signing other players.
- That is irrelevant to Tyron contract. His cost is 12.2M per year on average.
