Otherwise known affectionately as "right kind of guys".A lot of it was his intangibles off the field. I've noticed if you keep your head down, don't cause any distractions and put your work in the weight room/film room then you have a very good chance of getting extended under Garrett regardless of your production (Crawford, Wilber, Hanna). These are the type of guys great franchises wouldn't hesitate to replace w/ late round picks.
He's a big, dumb, lumbering hard practice guy.................Rod's blue print of D-lineman.Miles Austin was sort of similar, but he did have a truly monster season. I don't know what on earth they saw out of Crawford's 2014 that impressed them that much.
I don't think he's dumb. I just think he's just missing something, where it be athletic skill, killer instinct, etc. He's a big, dumb, lumbering hard practice guy.................Rod's blue print of D-lineman.
Reminds of old Jay Ratfliff. Solid guy, gets paid and stinks.
PFF rated him the worst starting DT in the entire Nfl last week. That's terrible
FRISCO, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett is not overly critical of his players publicly, so when he chides one even a little bit it is noteworthy.
On Monday, Garrett was not pleased with the work of defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford.
"I thought he was tough sitting in against the run at times. I thought he affected the quarterback at times," Garrett said. "But he needs to be a more productive player for us. We need to get more out of our defensive line as we go forward."
Crawford was credited with two tackles by the coaches in the Cowboys' season-opening loss to the New York Giants. He did not have a quarterback pressure or a sack. He did draw a holding penalty.
Crawford did not disagree with Garrett's assessment.
"I played horrible," Crawford said. "I definitely didn't play like I wanted to play."

Ratliff got paid an extension his first contract and was a beast. Maybe it's because Wade Phillips knows how to coach defenses, but our brain-trust thinks anybody can coach up guys...
Hanna has actually been better than I expected. I just think when you have annual cap issues you should find ways to save money by replacing these role players with late rd picks. I really liked the Swain pick and believe he could have been Hanna's replacement.I'm not sure why your attacking Hanna on this one. Guy has been nothing but a solid player for us up to this point. I'm a little perplexed with how Crawford has been playing. I really liked the guy before he got his big pay day. He never struck me as a guy who would just coast after getting paid, but hey money changes people.
What I don't get is, if he knew he was stinking up the joint, why didn't he make adjustments to fix that?Good for him for owning up to it, that's the first step in fixing it, I suppose.

If they waste 2m on guys like Hanna, Heath, DMC, Beasley, Gachkar, Wilcox then they can say we can't sign any starsHanna has actually been better than I expected. They had Carson Wentz right under there nose and well.. They let Philly have him.
Yep.He's been garbage ever since he signed that contract.
