GRAPEVINE — Tyrone Crawford suffered a season-ending torn left Achilles tendon on the first day of training camp practice in July.

The Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman says the injury is completely healed and he hasn’t experienced any setbacks, however, he’s not as far along as he would like to be.

“It’s still sore, but that’s getting used to being at practice and going up against an offensive lineman,” Crawford said Tuesday during the team’s annual golf tournament. “[It’s] definitely weaker than I expected it would be at this point, and sometimes I try to put my foot down and it doesn’t hold as well as I want it to.”

Crawford assured that he would not open camp on the physically unable to perform list

Achilles tear is difficult to return from. Perhaps our expectations are too high.

Well i'm sure its a tough one to recover from but it gets old hearing about injuries every single day. Either we draft soft players or we don't know how to take care of them.

Well, hopefully he doesn't try to rush anything (even if it's been a while). An Achilles tear is considered career threatening for a reason.

And isn't Melton still not fully recovered from last year's ACL? Can't really put that on the Cowboys though since he just got here. Just disappointed. Spencer is on PUP at least the first 6 weeks and Crawford and Melton aren't fully recovered yet.

I don'y know but it seems there are conditioning issues with many others also.
Maybe this runs through the league ,don't know

Thinking outside the "Box" or the "NFL" for instance, is always a good start. One part of getting ahead of the proverbial "curve" .

This is par the course for an Achilles injury. He has to basically learn to walk again because of loss of balance. The calf muscle needs to be completely built up again and he must trust the surgery has worked (mentally challenging because you're afraid to put all your force behind it). He will be fine come training camp, because once the pads come on he'll have no choice but to go all out or lose a job. Hell then see that it's ok to push the calf and it's fully strengthened. Prolly just a little muscle fatigue.

He is lying, Romo just said that Crawford was going to "shock a lot of people this year". Wait a minute, maybe this is what he meant.

Billion dollar stadium, dollar store training staff

- I am not just talking about Crawford as an Achilles is gonna need time to heal, but their answer to turning over every stone to reduce injuries? ballet bars....
