It is a serious injury. Any time a lineman gets a leg injury, it concerns me. You can make it back obviously, but not everyone does. The difference from being a good player to out of the league can be razor thin.
Church made it back and appeared not to lose a step. I was worried about him too as he isn't the fastest guy to begin with.

My hope/expectation for Crawford for this year is not huge. If he can be a positive rotation guy and more important not reinjure the Achilles or get hurt some other way, I would consider that a plus. Then I think you can count on him to at least be a solid rotation guy ( and hopefully more) heading into 2015.

and yet Church came back last year from the same injury and played all 16 games. Crawford is still in the rehab stage fact he is out there during OTA is very encouraging and with camp still a little ways off it appears he is on schedule.

I'm not really talking about Crawford. Sorry for getting off track haha.

It's all the others, i'm sure Claiborne will miss most of camp injured along with many others.

I know it is different sports but look at the Phoenix Suns. They save careers that many have considered over due to injury, and they have a nice track record of keeping players healthy to prolong careers. It's not just Tyrone, we are constantly killed by injuries.

Injuries have been a real problem, no doubt. I just replied to a post to say that Crawford having a balky tendon at this point is not necessarily the fault of the trainers here.

This is going to hurt Crawford for a while. Remember, Greg Ellis tore his achilles in 2006 and had pain all through 2007 camp and the first few weeks of the season. I think Crawford will be just fine.

A line I heard earlier today makes me wonder about the marinelli scheme that relies on quickness:

"Quick guys get tired and worn down; big guys never shrink."

I expect Claiborne to be out there, I know injury suck but it is football and injuries will happen. These guys are not asking to get hurt but it happens. I have no real reason to think Claiborne or any other guy will be missing time, will some guys miss time? sure this is not viedo games this is real life football but i don't go in to any season thinking any particular person is going to get hurt.

This is a common complaint amongst most people that suffer this injury. As with any injury, it's going to take a while to get comfortable with it, and regain faith in it.

It's a system that relies on depth and, most of all, playing with a lead to make the DL focus on rushing the passer without worrying about the threat of the run game.

Even though the principles were a bit different, it's not that much different than Jimmy Johnson's upfield pressure 4-3 defense. The key to the Dallas defense was the depth of the front, and playing with a lead.

yes but depth that is close in quality. Obiously you cannot have multiple pro bowlers; so what you need are good starters and two for each position. No way do we have anywhere close to that.

With lee out, dallas needs guys to step up and solidify a few holes defensively.

Dallas needs Crawford to lock down a spot on the DLine. At least be a solid rotation guy, similar to george selvie or bass(depending on whether he's DE or DT.

I think he will be fine once the pads come on. Just hope for no setbacks.
