Instead of getting cap space back, what if the Cowboys and Commanders got some type of equivalent draft picks for the type of FA's they could have signed.
Say for $10 million, the Cowboys could get 2 extra 1st round picks, over the next 2 years. Since the cap hit was spread out over 2 years. and as a bonus because of it , it should be an extra 2nd or 3rd. I realize the Redkins would get much more, but only right since they got hit with more.

And the Giants lose 1st round picks, since Mara was the front runner of this collusion.

I don't think Dallas or Washington would get any cps space back. If anything the NFLPA would get money.

The real question is who this judge doty clown is and why he ruled the way he did in the first place. It was clearly collusion. Wanna know who's lining his pockets

He based his decision off of the nflpa basically forgiving the nfl with a new cba and a side agreement that punished the Cowboys/Commanders for some extra cap space given to the rest of the league. It was a really dirty deal that the nflpa made and then turned around and sued about it anyway. But the deal ended up saving the nflpa executive DeMaurice Smith's job.

I think it would put the rest of the league at a disadvantage to just give a bunch of extra cap space back. I don't know that you can do that.

Why not?

It was done to us and Washington, except we were at the disadvantage to the benefit to the rest of the league. They all received an even distribution of ours and Washington's cap money over a two year span, which put us and Washington at a huge disadvantage, especially Washington.

I don't see why it couldn't come full circle and a wrong be made right. And that's exactly what would happen if we did get our cap space/money back. A calculated wrong planned by an egotistical moron in Mara would be made right.

If anything, he and his putrid excuse for a franchise should take the brunt of the payback.

just when there was nothing to discuss, we get this!!!!

it will take a while, but there has to be some benefit to Dallas and Washington of some sort, assuming the discovery phase shows something

I want the NFL to have to explain to a judge or jury why it fined teams for going over the salary cap in an uncapped year. We absolutely should get our cap money back, as should Washington.

Even if this could be won (it can't - basically the NFLPA waived their right to sue for collusion), it wouldn't help Dallas or Washington. The suit is against the NFL as a whole, and the whole entity would be liable. I doubt 28 owners would just aww-shucks and give anything back to Dallas or Washington after the whole NFL had to pay up.

I understand Washington already tried to take this to court, and collusion or not, the arbitrator ruled that the NFL can issue penalties as it sees fit.

NFL could add 5 million in cap space to Dallas, after all Dallas did not pay out 5 million Dallas had 5 million subtracted from their cap

There has got to be some way to make up for the bs that they did to us by taking away that cap space. Perhaps if the rest of the league is hit, the Commanders and us would be excluded from the punishment

It was never a direct payout it was taking money from their cap, there should be no reason that their caps should not reflex the ruling.

Right so in theory shouldn't our cap space be safe if such a thing were to happen? Since our original punishment blatantly shows that we didn't go along with said "collusion"?

How about they just give back the cap space they took, it would be no more a disadvantage to the leagues other a teams then it was a disadvantage to us against the leagues other teams when they took our cap space.

Essentially, I think the rest of the league would look that as 30 teams being put at a disadvantage for the benefit of 2. I don't think that would go over very well.

Might not go over very well with the other 30 teams, but it would be the equalizer to right the wrong in a fair and equatable way. Now that it is in the courts and if the court actually takes it up, seems it would be up to the court to say what is equitable and then institute that remedy, not up to the 30 other teams.

Oh my, I can just see Mara and friends feverishly deleting emails off there hard drives as we speak.

It would serve the league right if the case went to the discovery stage and exposed the dark truths about this obvious vendetta. Goodell and his gang should have never went along with this charade in the first place and now they run the risk of being exposed by the courts.

Maybe Mara can contact the IRS as they seem pretty versed in destroying emails and hard drives.

But I guess the Canadians don't know much about that!:)
