It's not reasonable to edit my posts then quote them. What I said was "Need a change of pace back and/or someone to bring something a little different."
Not sure what work you think the conjunctive "and" or the disjunctive "or" are doing in your sentence, but grammatically they both simply link two clauses that could just as easily been punctuated to create separate sentences. In other words, your conjunctive "and" could easily drop out and the two thoughts you've expressed could have been expressed as follows: "Need a change of pace back. Need someone to bring something a little different." Similarly, your disjunctive "or" could easily drop out and the thoughts could be expressed as follows: "Need a change of pace back. Alternatively, need someone to bring something a little different."
In either case, "...need someone to bring something a little different" does not misquote you in any way. It is a claim to which your post commits you, whether your clauses are linked conjunctively or disjunctively. Accordingly, it's perfectly reasonable to use an ellipse to focus in on that claim while leaving the other claim expressed in your post aside for the moment. Simple grammar.
More importantly, I was speaking tongue in cheek. Lighten up, Francis.
