they wouldn't have to play in england. any country with a population thats interested in Football would be a perfect place.
For the same reason why Canada wants an NFL team. The CFL is not the NFL. NFL games should be played in areas where there is NFL support, and that's in Canada.skinzgonnakill;1911598 said:but Canada has the CFL so why would we take it there?

Bills announce plans to play games in Toronto

Besides, Europe had its chance with NFL Europa and it didn't exactly embrace it adoring support. Let Europe have it's soccer and leave football for this side of the Atlantic.
Send New England or Washington!.Dallas;1911558 said:I would hate it. I don't think teams should be playing out of the US. It is to hard on the clubs w/ all of the travel and then the game and then all of the travel.
It's silly.

just to let you know i am a huge fan of Arsenal And FC Barcelona

And, let's face it, American Football is never going to displace Football in Europe...Seems like a nice idea but the nature of the sport simply isn't of interest for Europeans...Only a margin of society will find passing interest.

Mexico, Germany, UK, and Canada are just some examples.
It's interesting that one of the most successful sports franchises in the world is owned by an American - M Glazer (who also owns the TB Bucs), who owns Manchester United. And the guy who helped develop Vail (sp?) ski resort also owns a soccer franchise in the UK.
I'm telling you, sports is seen as an entertainment BUSINESS worldwide.
That's why the NBA spends so much time going to China, France, etc.
This is the American way. You take risks, you maximize your profit potential.
FCBarca;1911783 said:You make some good points...Business is business and that applies to professional sports, as well...I'd also concede that the UK & Germany, in particular seem to fare well with American Football but that seems to be more a product of American influences there (not to mention military bases etc fostering interest).
Canada and Mexico (And Mexico really surprises me with their interest, honestly) are also true but again a product of being inundated with the marketing for North America.
But, that's it, really...As much as Germans are interested in American Football, can't see part of the league taking root...NFL Europe has been a pretty big disappointment save for a few small markets...Just can't see it taking root.
As for these games in London, I think it's probably a nice attraction for the Brits and for the NFL, obviously...However, it should be at the beginning of the season, IMHO...That or allow for a bye week to sandwich the games...They say you need 1 day for every hour of time difference to recover and a trip to London would require just a week to get back to normal let alone preparing for the next game.
I don't know, just my opinion but I find it a bad idea.
FCBarca;1911820 said:Hey, 8 hours is 8 hours...Come on...And that's assuming you're coming from Boston which is already on the edge of the pond, nevermind Dallas, TX.
Yeah, it will probably be a road game. I'd prefer the Cowboys don't play overseas and if they do I hope its not the Browns or Steelers game next year because I plan on attending both if they stay put.joseephuss;1911615 said:It could be during one of Dallas' road games, so Jerry would not lose revenue.
I think Dallas will play an out of country regular season game eventually, but it won't be next season in London. I can see Mexico being the better option due to proximity. Closer than going to their NFC East rivals or Seattle.
The Giants and Dolphins going to London was probably not much more traveling than going to Denver or Seattle. Plus their schedules were worked to give them their bye week after that game.
