I have lived in europe and NFL Europe had about as much interest as Team Tennis in America. Its a curiousity and NO MORE. We Tried for almost 10 years with NFL Europe and it did not take. Just throwing more good money after bad. Its like Soccer here= just never going to be a major sport. People talk about all the kids playing soccer here= but that has been going on for almost 10 years and there has been NO interest shown in Major League Soccer. Kids play it untill high school then they get interested in something else. Its a joke to be talking business and saying we have to enlarge the market; but that only works if the market is interested in your product. You cannot force it.

Yeah, can't agree with that entirely.

You're spot on about NFL Europe but that, honestly, has more to do with the culture of sports outside the US...A lot of people outside the US have a difficulty understanding the sport of American Football and so it fights a pretty uphill battle to flourish.

Soccer/Football in the US, on the other hand, doesn't face nearly the same battle in terms of success...Kids play it until high school because then they realize the money and media marketing is fully invested in the other professional sports in the US...You can find it amusing or annoying but when they say football is the world's game, that's exactly what it is...The entire world is playing, even here in the US...It simply doesn't rise to the level of other professional sports in this country but that has more to do with other factors (Financial).

Those factors include the fact that it's harder to infuse ad dollars in football here in the US and other professional sports benefit from a tremendous amount of money on advertisements and marketing that doesn't work in football/soccer...Any question about the popularity after high school etc should be directed to how successful the WC was here in the US back in '94.

And as for MLS, the interest is there but it doesn't benefit from the mega marketing machine that is the NFL, NBA etc...Nevermind that the quality of players in the US are several notches below that outside the US...It'd be analogous to trying to market the NBDL to Europe when they already have a successful FIBA league...Whose gonna get excited about low tier level basketball when there's a better product already there.

Moreover, I think you're going to see a rise in coverage of football outside the US in addition to money infusing into the MLS game (i.e. bringing in better and less aged players from abroad)...There's a reason that there is an increase in franchises in the MLS.

they wouldn't have to play in england. any country with a population thats interested in Football would be a perfect place.

So based on this guy's signature, I am assuming that animated signatures are back on the menu?

There's a rumor on a UK board that it might be the Vikes.

Cool.

Then I get to watch A Peterson in person.

Wouldn't mind a Vikings versus Commanders re-match. With a different outcome, of course.

Obviously, I'd love to see the boys in Europe. And i don't think that the time is that much of a factor here, as mentioned before its just to hours more than the Chargers have on sunday. So this in combination with a follow-up bye week is no big deal. At least i don't see the Giants suffer from that at the moment.
But the question is what the NFL is trying to accomplish with this game. NFLE is dead. It was great fun here in Frankfurt, but lets face it, it wasn't even shown on TV. It just served a niche, nothing more and there were no signs of changing this. So theres no chance to establish this great game in Germany or the rest of europe and therefore i just cant see the reason for a game in Europe. Canada or Mexico (I heard our players like it there ) would make much more sense

Today the NFL announced that they will be coming back over here for another regular season game due to the huge success of the game last October.

How would you feel if Dallas made the trip over ??

I for one and speaking for a lot of Brit Cowboy fans would of course love it - and it cant be argued that it has a detrimental effect on the teams as one is 60 minutes away form a SB berth.

Good news about Garrett by the way - whichever way its cooked up

as long as it is not a home game, something jerry would never allow.

I would hate it. I don't think teams should be playing out of the US. It is to hard on the clubs w/ all of the travel and then the game and then all of the travel.

It's silly.

didn't hurt the Giants who are now in the NFC Championship game.

I live in Denmark and even though it would be much cheaper for me to watch a NFL-game in London I would certainly prefer to take a couple of weeks vacation and go to Texas to watch a Cowboys home game and a couple of College games as well.

In order to get the real NFL-expirience you should go to USA - preferably in Dallas Texas.:)

By the way I don't think one game per season in Europe increases the number of NFL-fans in Europe.

The number of NFL fans in Denmark has almost tendoubled within the last 7 or 8 years and I believe football could become the second or third largest sport in Europe after soccer.

The NFL should promote the game by sending NFL-players to different European countries. I think a lot of NFL players would enjoy a free holiday in Europe on the condition that they showed their football skills for a couple of hours.

But since Goodell insists on a regular season game in Europe please let it be a Commanders home game:laugh1: The Commanders fans would suffer and I could be there to cheer on their opponent.

You should do it. I've been the last five years. I usually take in two games.

Away games also can be fun, depending on the location and the result.

I was fortunate to be in Carolina when Romo made his first start. Man, that was a fun night. :)

speaking as a european Cowboys fan (Denmark) - I would rather spend ~$1200 to see the boyz in Dallas then ~$800 to see them in England... I support Jerry in his idea that there's no reason to travel over seas.

I heard that Daniel Snyder is thinking about making the Skins the first franchise to move to the new NFL Developmental League.
