We all know that not all drafts go to our liking. 2 years ago I was filled with ???? after the Frederick pick. Last year we drafted smart in taking Martin but he wasn't the consensus pick here. Who do you think we'll pick that isn't the most popular but draftworthy whether it's at 27 or shortly after. I'll start.

DE - UCLA - Owamagbe Odighizuwa

I've been harping about RB/CB/LB for our first pick. I don't really see a DL worth taking that screams impact but I feel like Owa will test well in the combine and although I think there's more value at other positions he could also be the last top tier of good pass rushing DE like Lawrence was last year.

There seems to be a lot of depth in rounds 2-4. But I think there are a few potential stars who may be available when we pick (RBs Gurley and Gordon, WR Green-Beckham, CB Peters) so it might be a good idea to take a chance on a guy if he's available.

I like him because he's physical with a good skill set. Typically players like that make it in the league.

I'm really liking Kevin Johnson, CB out of Wake Forest. He's not a popular pick around here, but man can he play.

If he checks out medically, I think he will be a prime target. The other one to me is Denzel Perryman. Our LB core is a mess.

trust me if I had a chance on the top 2 RB and Peters, I'd take one of them. But we all know there has to be a fall back plan. Mine would be like everyone stated, Dawson and Owa.

OO is a strong possibility if he checks out medically.

I need to spend some more time reviewing Perryman but I'm concerned about his coverage

A 1st round LB should be elite in coverage, IMO. The Cowboys play Nickel over 50% of the snaps.

His height is also below average.

He does look terrific playing the run.

I'd put chips on DL-Odighizuwa too. And I think guys like Preston Smith and Xavier Cooper will rise up to early RD2 and we may do as we did with TFred...Just grab the guy we want and not worry so much if the value is a little off.

Maybe OL-Cameron Irving too. Just feel like a guy who can basically play any of the five positions on OL is going to catch Garrett's eye and RT might be a hole. Still, seems unlikely we'd go OL in round 1 again.

Depends what the team thinks of his stability and how much $ he wants. He can be great, but he can also be average or suddenly decide to retire. Even if I'm bringing him back, I wouldn't shy away from Perryman. It all depends on who's there at #27, but Perryman is a beast of a three-down MLB.

I don't expect McClain to.return. LB is a priority
